Hi all!

As a child on my '88 trip, Journey into Imagination was my favorite ride in Epcot. I remember late at night, when no lines existed, my mother and I running back to ride it over and over. Since the overhaul, how much has the attraction changed? Obviously, The Dreamfinder is long gone, but now that Figment is back (How could we have lived without him?) what's the story-line like?

The Journey into Imagination is still quite cute. Although still not as great as the years past - it is fun!

We rode it two times(back to back) this past Saturday. It is my 5yr old DDs favorite ride. The story line it that Dr.----- (trying to remember his name) is going to tell us about our senses and Figment gets into everything and shows us that we feel things with our imagination. Then Figment takes over the tour and towards the end it turns into the old ride. Definately brings smiles to everyone.

Many years ago, for our oldest son (now a college sophmore), before the changes, this was his favorite ride.....we must have ridden it 20 or 30 times non a trip...

I don't want to admit to how many stuffed Figments we have in this house :)

Then at Magic Kingdom, since we all loved it, we'd do Pirates about a dozen times :)

Awww I worked at Imag in 1988. Bet I saw you running back and forth to get on the ride late at nite.

I do miss the original version of the ride. It is MUCH better than either of the versions since.

Yep--I was the one with the three-year-old in a state of joy :)

Never did understand why or how they thought they "improved" it.....

Of course, we were hoping to Save the Toad, so we are not always big on change, especially when it comes to our favorites :)

I totally agree that the original ride was the best. Am I the only one who remembers the SMELL it had?

The smell? Ahh! It was too long ago to recall exactly what it smelled like, but I know that it was a major party of the whole attraction. My memory is of the queueing area at night, all lit up, and all the bright colors. I had so much fun making music in the exhibits following the ride, too. I am excited to see what they've done to it since I was there. I'm glad the leapfrog fountains are still there out front, too! Spent a lot of time playing in those, too.

I heard that a lot of the original exihibit still exists, there is a stairwell in the "new" gift shop that leads to it. I think the rainbow walkway and other things are still there if I heard right.

I loooovvveee Figment. I miss the old ride but will settle for the new one instead of nothing. I think my son gets as much amusement out of seeing me on JIYI as I do seeing him enjoy Spectro.

I fondly remember Figment, too. we have original Figment stuffed dolls, too.

The new ride is still cute, course not as great as the original but what is? ;)

I will warn you that Figment looks different than he did before... not drastic, but there is a difference.
