Figaro Fries by Demand...Maybe Not Anymore.

Just an FYI for Figaro Fry fans. This might just be the case the day I went, but last May I tried to order Figaro Fries by demand and was told you can't even get them by request anymore. The CM I was ordering from said they didn't have them anymore and I said I thought they were available by request, he said he would check, he went in the back and was gone FOREVER. He finally came back out with a manager who told me the only thing he could do is give me fries with the cheese and the bacon because they no longer stocked the diced tomatoes and shredded lettuce for the Figaro fries. I suppose I could have begged him to dice me some tomatoes and shred some lettuce, but I just told him how disappointed I was that they weren't on the menu anymore.

Well shoot....I had heard that they weren't on the menu anymore but had hoped that was wrong!

Now I have no reason to go in that restaurant anymore so I guess I can cross it off my list

I make my own at home now.

I found a cheese fry recipe from Rachel Ray - followed it and then added my own stuff (chopped bacon, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, ranch dressing).

I've never had the figaro fries in the parks but I think this is really close. And it's yummy!

There was just *something* about them... It's hard to explain.

Sure, lettuce, tomato and ranch dressing on french fries doesn't sound all that tempting, but BOY was it tasty.

We still miss them.

We still go to the Village Haus, but mostly now for just hoping to snag one of the coveted tables overlooking IASW, so we can smile and make funny faces at the riders below. (that's an hour's worth of entertainment for me... )

But, it's just not the same without our beloved Figaro's.

They have been off the menu for quite a while now. But if you asked to add the stuff to your fries they would do that. I hate to hear they can't add the stuff anymore. They never sounded like it would be good but they sure did taste good.

Here is a picture of the last time I enjoyed Figaro Fries when they were on the Menu. This was either 2005 or 2007 I can't remember off hand right now.

Okay, maybe I'm silly, but can't you just buy a side salad and then put it on the fries? Cuz that's what it looks like.

The WDW Today Podcast reported a week or so ago that Figaro Fries were no longer available at the Village Haus.
