Does anyone here have fibromyalgia or know someone who does? Would you be willing to share your experience?

Doc is pretty certain this is what I have. He did say there are some new meds that are working great for some of his patients.

My MIL has it. There was a med she was taking, but had to stop taking because of adverse reaction. I know she also got a special mattress that helps her case. I'll ask her about it.

I am so thankful I wasn't experiencing major symptoms during our Disney trip last month. The last two weeks have been miserable, though, with major pain in my joints and legs (constant calf pain). It also seems to get worse when the weather changes.

I won't comment on fibromyalgia, but I would like to suggest that you make sure that you have had a very thorough work-up. Joint pain and calf pain could be a lot of things and some of them quite serious. I would suggest a visit to a rheumatologist.

I have it. I've been on Cymbalta for over two years, and my flare ups occur far less than they used to. I do still have them sometimes, but my quality of life on Cymbalta is much better.

I have had fibromyalgia for 16 years. It is a very strange syndrome in that there isn't a cure and everyone experiences it differently. The treatment also is different for everyone. It is a trial and error type thing. It took me years of trying different meds to finally figure out what worked for me. Of course I tried the new ones that came out in the past 3 years (Savella and Lyrica)but they did nothing but give me side effects. My suggestion would be to find a doctor that knows fibromyalgia. It is so important that you have a doctor that understands what you are going through.
