Hello Everyone-
this is my first DCL cruise and have a few last minute ?s before I set sail on Saturday.

I read somewhere that you can order 24 bottled waters for about $29 and it will be waiting in your stateroom. Can anyone tell me how to do that? I called the 800 # and the woman didn't know what I was talking about.

We're waitlisted for early seating - is there anything I can do on board to get that changed?

Lastly, I want to get my DD hair braided - is there a place on ship that does that and would I reserve a spot?

Thanks to all of you on this board for being so helpful to a "newbie"

You will be approached during lunch the first day about the water package. If you aren't, just ask any CM in the dining rooms & they will be glad to help you. ;)

If you aren't changed to early when you check in go to the same place they have Palo resies ASAP when you board. Don't wait until the time listed on the navigator they give you. ;)

They should have the place to make resies to have hair braided on that paper too. If not, GS will be able to help you.

There is a bottled water package that you can purchase onboard. When you embark you will be asked by CMs if you would like to purchase a case or 1/2 case. I can't remember the exact cost but we ordered a 1/2 case and it was in our room within a few hours.

If you get onboard and you are still on late seating and would like early check the Navigator to see where you need to go for dining changes. There are no guarantees but if you get there early there is a decent chance you can get switched over.

I know they do hair braiding by the pool but I don't know how you reserve a time. I am sure someone else does.

Water: in addition to being asked at lunch at embarkation, we walked past a display of bottled water on the walk to Parrot Cay as we boarded the ship. It actually startled some guests, until they realized they didn't have to buy it.

Hair: DD10 got a cornrow "headband" and DD3 got four small braids with beads, and we made that appointment directly with the women by the Mickey pool who do the braids. We walked up to them in the afternoon on embarkation day, and they had an appointment book right there, wrote down our stateroom number, and gave us a reminder card with the time written on it. When we arrived at our appointment time they were prompt. Warning: IT HURTS, with some braiders more than others. DD10 had it done at CC when she was 6, with no pain at all. This year she was in tears, and we almost took them out. The problem was that the beads pressed down so hard on the top of her head. That night she spent some time just fiddling with the beads, lifting them up and wiggling them. That did the trick, and she still has them in today (Cruise June 25th).

Have a wonderful cruise!!

Thanks for the "hurts" warning - DD (8) doesn't even like me to comb her hair. One other? - will I just spot the people on CC braiding hair and wait in line to get hers done?

I cant help with your questions I just wanted to wish you a happy holiday.
When you get off the ship, I'll be getting on :thumbsup2

Thanks - Happy sailings to you as well :cheer2:

You should make an appointment for the hair braiding. Waiting in a long line up on CC is just that..LLONG...Opon check-in, you will receive a paper and on it will be some specifics on where to register for certain things such as this...

IMHO it is cleaner and easier on the ship. The combs are washed, and the staff is DCL, on the island, they are brought over from the surrounding areas...HTH :goodvibes

Here's just wishing you a great cruise.
I also need to test my signature, thanks

DisneyMum- i am going to be on the cruise with you!!! About how you dine you probally need to go to guest services! I really can't help you much else though...sorry!

I saw many little girls crying about the hair braiding thing. They sell a t-shirt on CC away the pain of braiding.

I second the poster who recommended braiding on the ship as opposed to on CC. My main reason is TIME. That day on the island flies by in a heartbeat, and I don't want to waste a second of it.
