Few Questions

Hi, it has been about 12 years since we've been to Universal, so I have a couple of questions. What is the express pass exactly? Do you only get this if you stay in a Universal hotel? How bad are the crowds the first week of June? We don't care about riding any of the big roller coasters, but would like to see Harry Potter and don't want to spend too much time waiting in line. TIA!

Universal Express Passes allow guests to skip the regular standby line – and use a special Express Pass line – at most of the attractions inside Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. http://orlandoinformer.com/page/art...tickets-packages-planning/express-pass-access

You get it for free if you stay in most of the Universal Hotels or you can buy it separately.

Gringotts, Forbidden Journey, Hogwarts Express and Ollivanders do not accept the express pass.

You can purchase the EP at the parks if you are staying offsite. One thing to remember is that the EP line is always a shorter que... even though many times the wait times were 5 or 10 minutes two weeks ago when we were there, we always used the EP line simply for the shorter walk to the loading area in each attraction. Of course that's no reason to purchase an EP

Express pass allows you access to a shorter, faster attraction line on rides ( waits advertised as being 20 mins or less but very often is much shorter than that or walk in).It allows you into seating areas first for shows .It is good on all rides and shows except: Gringotts, Forbidden JOurney, Ollivanders, Pteranodon flyers and Kang and Kodas.There is no return times to track.You simply show your express pass to the express line ride attendant , they scan it and you are on your way. YOu can get unlimited express pass for free by staying at a Universal DELUXE resort ( these include, Royal Pacific, Hard Rock and Portofino Bay).It does not come with stays at Cabana bay .You can also purchase it.The price is dependent on the projected crowd levels and can go up if the projected crowds are expected to go up.If you purchase them they are DATE SPECIFIC,PARK SPECIFIC and NON-REFUNDABLE..so if you want to buy them we recommend waiting till you get there and see if you need them.Early June will start the summer crowds.
