Ferry Boat Rentals??

I am planning a Disney Escape wedding but, it is not till November of 2015. So, in the mean time my DF and I are deciding what to do for a reception.

Long story short, on a trip to WDW MK, I was at the Ticket and Transportation Center, and while waiting for a Ferry Boat, there was a docked Ferry Boat to the side that was hosting a private event. I can't seem to find any information on this online.

Does anyone know anything about renting a Ferry Boat on the Seven Seas Lagoon?

I know of at least one bride who rented one of the water launches on Seven Seas Lagoon for her event, and plenty of us have rented Friendship Boats. Once you get your Escape planner, s/he can help you make arrangements for a private catered event, including seeing if this is an option. I asked recently about the receptions they used to do on Friendships but was told the park no longer allows it. Hopefully your idea can still be done.

On the upside...if you go to the specialty cruises page for all the tours and stuff you can book at Disney World--apparently you can rent a yacht! Looks like it'll only hold 18 people...so might be perfect for an Escape reception? Rent 2 yachts to increase your capacity!

There's only one yacht, the Grand 1, but that's a good point: If you're having an Escape event, you don't need an entire ferry boat. The Grand 1 holds up to 18 people, and pontoon boats hold up to 10 adults. You can have Grand Floridian private dining deliver food to the boat and take it out on the lagoon during Wishes. This podcast episode will give you all the info about fireworks cruises.

Out of curiosity, I called the reservations line about the yacht. It's $699/hr, which includes a captain and deck hand. You can add butler service to it as well (but I don't know the pricing). It seems outrageous...but you and your guests would certainly have an experience that most do not get.
