Fellow drivers to WDW, please keep us posted about your gas prices and availability.

I don't believe he means for travel. On another thread a woman was wondering if she should cancel their trip, her husband said no because we need to keep the economy going. I take what Pres Bush and others mean that if you are driving home from work and need to do some shopping don't go home then head out again. Do it on your way home. Maybe this is only caving 1/2 gallon of gas but if everyone did it. So I say take your trip, I think the "shortage" is because people were trying to get gas before the prices rose.

Have Fun!

I agree! I totally have been planning my trips about town to do everything in one shot. I didn't even return my Blockbuster movies when they were due because I knew that I had a doctor appt. in two days, right next door to it. Also, my son has to be at his football game an hour early and normally I would of dropped him off and come back when his game started. Not now.

I still plan on traveling to WDW at the end of the month. I think it's important for the economy that everyone not panic and cancel trips. In the mean time, I will be conserving for the sake of the gas shortages and for the sake of my wallet!

Just think of how much gas could be saved if everyone rethought their normal shopping trips. :moped:

Would like input as the month goes by. Shortages are probably the most important info you could give us. Thanks again.

my brother just emailed me...he paid $3.89 (he works in Washington DC)

Just back from WDW a few hours ago. WDW gas was 2.85 yesterday mornin.

Atlanta on I75 had the highest prices we saw. North of Atlanta we got 5 gallons of gas to take use a 100 miles down the roade cause gas was like 3.30 a gallon there. We later filled up 100 miles down the road for about 3.09. That got us home.

I saw no places that was actually out of gas yet but I can't say they won't run out later. I didn't see no gas lines either.

Gas here in barely Indiana, nearly Kentucky is 3.19 saw it a little cheaper in Kentucky off the beaten path tho not on a road most traveling from the north would take. It was a short cut for us but not unless you live in my immediate area.

HESS at Downtown Disney was $2.85 at 1:30am this morning. I will check it around 4:00 today and report back. :cool1:

This morning at 1:30am, HESS was at 2.99

Minnieluvsmickey,
Keep us posted on your gas shortage isssue. We will be traveling right through there on way to the World. We leave the 17th. Your information is vital. Thanks. :moped:

I live in North Alabama, and gas prices here today that I saw were up to about 3.30 for regular unleaded....if the station has gas. I saw several today with none, and I know that one near my house (an Exxon) hasn't had any since Wednesday.

Can you cite a credible source to confirm this statement?

We are in South Florida and plenty of stations have gas..we are having no problem at all getting gas.

What media-induced, panic buying can do---outside the affected areas, of course, where they DO have an immediate problem with delivery and no power.
Anyway--since we go on Oct 1, will be checking this post from time to time. Friends in FT. Myers Fla. report no shortage and their regular station open--with higher prices, of course.

Interesting tho that any # of those folks who sat in gas lines, or cruised around just looking to save .10 a gallon, are STILL driving on the Interstates at 80-85-90 MPH. Thereby wasting the very gas that was so dear a few hours back!!!!

Just think how many MILLIONS of gallons of gas could be saved just by doing 65?? NOt 55--just 65!! I tried just that on I-83 last evening. Cars, trucks and busses were FLYING by (as usual), with no one thinking of slowing down even a little.

i'm in the detroit area right now..
on friday evening, the station we frequent dropped from $3.29 to $2.99 (i haven't driven by there since friday).....

we're planning on driving down to WDW next week, before we head back overseas.....one last visit with mickey (the third in 2 months)...we were just there the week before last, but are in withdrawal...

We are coming over from the UK 9/28, not concerned too much about the price (we already pay $7.30 and up over here!), but worried about shortages.
Has something major happened recently to cause all of this (we don't get that sort of news over here)?

The shortages here are due to hurricane Katrina.

Knoxville TN here.....average of $3.29 here. But yesterday morning I had to get gas...price was $3.45 9/10 (don't even get me started on the 9/10 thingy :rotfl: ) anyway. I went out yesterday afternoon....same station, gas price was $3.29 :earseek: So, good news for y'all, our gas prices here in Knoxville.....going down......we have no shortages.......I75 goes through our city....and gas is usually (I'm not promising this now) cheaper after you go through Knoxville. I'm going down in October, were driving too, so I hope we can keep this thread going!

Everyone going soon, have a great time!!!!!!

Here in the Charlotte NC area there were a number of stations without gas but most seem to be getting more in. I think people paniced and all ran to the stations and started hoarding the gas. I have seen the price of gas around 3.49 a gallon.

We have had a few stations temporarily run out of gas, but it doesn't seem to last long. The majority of the stations have not run out. Governor Roy Barnes has temporarily (for one month) suspended some of the state taxes associated with gas, which we have been told should reduce the price per gallon by .15c. Of course, no way of knowing if the station is passing the reduction on to the consumer, right?

Last Wednesday, gas was running anywhere from $3.00 to $3.50/gallon. Now, it seems to be a consistent $2.99/gallon (keep in mind that I am a good 5 miles away from the expressway).

I live in Coastal NC and our gas is about 3.29 /gallon.

We have several stations out of gas, but just as many have gas also.

I live near Chattanooga, TN, and the prices have dropped down to 2.91 now. There were some shortages over the weekend, but those stations seemed to have had a delivery.

I have not heard of any shortages here. I bought gas a weekago for 2.53 per, but most of the stations around here now are selling for $2.99.

The Hess and BP stations around Orlando are probably your best best. I drove by the Hess station behind Universal (Turkey Lake Rd) and it was $2.95. I think the ones on Disney property are still $2.99, but I am not sure, since I bussed it to the Mk yesterday! :)

Some of the stations around the Crossroads (535 & hotel plaza blvd) are still outragiously hig, but they always are. Don't buy your gas from those three stations - they were around $3.50.
