I have been reading in tears all morning at the Yahoo board. Tears of sadness and joy. The women who went to CKU Provo this year have rallied to help a fellow CKUer. Renee had to leave New Orleans and has lost most everything. (smart woman, she did grab here basic scrapbooking supplies and the tower to her PC so she has all her photos!).
Her family is lucky in many ways--safe, positive attitude, credit cards to live on. But no access to bank funds, husbands law practice gone. The CKU women have rallied and have gotten them a home, and are filling it with household supplies. I am AMAZED!
Check it out at www.everydaydanelle.typepad.com. This is Danelle Johnson's blog--designer of ArtWarehouse for Creative Imaginations! (and former student of mine...she took her FIRST scrapbooking class from me! :cool1: I'm like a proud mama!) There are addresses for donations if you are comfortable doing so. I think the fact that a "celebrity" like Danelle is doing it gives it credibility. I also know Danelle--truly one of the nicest people I have ever met.
But if you aren't comfortable donating, prayers & thoughts are priceless. Reading the blog is heart-touching.
Count your blessings.

The CKU group is an example of what people all over the US are doing and the outpouring for Renee and many, many others that I don't know is amazing! :grouphug:

There is so much we can do monetarily and/or creatively if we can't get there physically!

The victims of Hurricane Katrina have been in my thoughts and prayers constantly...I do hope everyone gets the help/relief they need... :grouphug:
