I've just finally figured out my way around Southwest. I know how to book and rebook with Ding to get flight credit. I understand how to maximize my dollar. Now they are not open and Jet blue has an acceptable price for my Sept dates. I don't want to wait much longer if oil keeps climibing. I just don't know if they offer the deals that I can get through Southwest? Has anyone used them and gotten a deal after their initial price? If so is it difficult to get? Also do you check in online and get your seats the same way Southwest does? With seven kids in tow I like that I know what to expect from Southwest and am nervous to venture into the unknown.

I booked our flights for a trip in August back in January on Jetblue when I saw the, in my opinion compared to AC out of YYZ, cheap, DIRECT flights at reasonable flight times. I cannot speak of deals, because I already believe that I got a great deal. But I can tell you that if you book your tickets online, you can PICK which seats you want as soon as you book. I have our flights and choice of seats near the front of the plane. That's what I loved about Jet blue. Also they fly new planes (2+2 seating configuration out of BUF to MCO ) with individual seat back entertainement systems. My girls can watch whatever they want, without lugging our own DVD players from home.

I have only noticed that our flight fares have gone up since I booked, so I am rather relieved that I jumped on the low fares when i first saw them in Jan.

Hi

I just flew home from MCO on Friday with Jet Blue and I must say..... they were great :thumbsup2

We did an online check-in at the CSR, but took our own luggage to the airport :)

The resort printed up the boarding passes for us ::yes::

I LOVED this airline  they had big comfortable leather seats with lots of legroom (my DS is 6'2" and he was comfortable)

They had satellite tv, so you could pick and chose what you wanted to watch while in flight :goodvibes

Plenty of free drinks and snacks as well :thumbsup2

We selected our seats online while purchasing the tickets.

Right now I have noticed they have $89 each way non-stop flights available for September.

My DD and I are thinking about going for a "quickie" trip and hopefully get free dining ;)

Good Luck in your decision :)

Thanks for your input. Another plus was that they participate in ME so it would save us lugging our luggage to the airport:thumbsup2.

I didn't realize that you get to pick your seats when you book your tickets. That seems a lot better than the cattle call boarding I've gotten used to with Southwest. I think I am on my way to book the $89 flights for our Sept trip:wizard: .

Does anyone know if you can use your own headphones for the T.V.s or do you buy their's and how much are they?

Although they are about to start charging for there headphones. (some nothing amount, i think $1.00)

We used Jetblue for the first time coming back from our cruise in Jan. Jetblue is number 1 for us now. But it will always end up coming down to price/times between southwest. The only downer with jetblue is there not as flexable with getting credits when the fare drops. They charge you a change fee which is usually more then the price drop. So if you do go Jetblue just save yourself the frustration and never look at the price of your flight again LOL

Why did you not use Resort Check In for your luggage? This is one of the best features (not having to stand in line to check in bags @ Orlando).

I also flew back from WDW last week (on Sunday) and used Resort Check In. It worked great !!!

We had small bags, so it wasn't a big deal for us, plus we did curbside check-in, so the luggage was gone before we even walked into the building.

It worked for us :thumbsup2

You could do resort check in for international flights? We were at the Poly a few weeks ago flying to Toronto and then on out west and were told that resort check-in was only for domestic flights. This would have saved us a huge amount of time and hassle. Can you comment on resort check-in for flights to Canada. I'd love to do this in future.
