I know that I have ruffled a few feathers on this board; but I am curious to see what everyones feelings are about this.
I'll give you my personal experience :
Out of control 17 year old nephew, decided that he wanted to be 17 and in the 9th grade again. He has been uncooperative and ran up a $1200 cell phone bill. He has been suspended from school countless times and steals from others. He has admitted to drinking, drugs, and unprotected sex.
His high school suggested the YCP so he could receive his GED in five months and receive discipline. He is in a mini boot camp enviroment and is supervised 24 hours a day.
We did find out that if he decided to join the military after he completes this program that he would be allowed to enter as an E2 instead of an E1.
What are your views on this topic?? Do you agree with this or believe that a bootcamp enviroment is not a place for a teen from age 16 - 19???
Thanks!
