Feeling less than happy about DVC split stays and booking ADR's

I wish it just read as a continuous vacation too! We have a split stay coming up, but it is 8/nights, 7/nights. So, it didn't end up being a big deal. I would have liked to book it all at once. It is stressful trying to get everything.

If you do a cash stay and then cancel, won’t that cancel the ADRs?
Not if you wait until your whole trip is within 60 days. Everyone can book at that point. Honestly I’m not sure it would even cancel before then. Disney’s system isn’t that advanced or this wouldn’t be an issue in the first place as I suspect it’s more difficult for them to fix and that’s why it’s an issue in the first place.

I just came into the 60 day window for our stay and I couldn’t believe how hard it was to get anything good already we were hoping for a California grill or narcoosees with no such luck. Has anyone had success with the walk up list for theses?

Thanks, this is good to know.

DVC has always been able to help us out before when needed for dining. I didn't think it would be a problem, until it was. We didn't have any points left to do a "placeholder" type booking to cover our stay. I didn't even think of doing a cash stay to later cancel. But then as I said, I didn't forsee so many problems with getting ADR's and DVC not helping. Tomorrow will be our 3rd morning of getting up at 4:45 am. (Central time zone) And it's 2 of us on separate MDE's trying for our group of 10. We're not very optimistic.

Ugh. I have a 3-resort split stay in the summer and I'm on the west coast. It's 6a Eastern, right? That's 3am over here, and doing that 3 times is going to be ridiculous. :headache:

Booking a resort-only cash stay to make ADRs only once sounds very tempting....

Use the TP reservation finder. Also, my daughter and I used walk-up for Le Cellier back in February while it was completely booked. Good luck!

We are staying 9 nights in early June, split between 3 of our home resorts. We are having a tough time booking ADR's. We're not being given the advantage of the +10. We have to start all over on 3 different checkin dates, while someone staying 9 nights on one reservation will be able to book ADR's for their entire trip from their date of checkin.
This does not seem fair. DVC encourages members to add on with other home resorts. Yet we're penalized when we want to stay at more than one resort on each trip. Not everyone has enough points at one resort for the length of their vacation, or can take enough trips in one year to stay at all resorts. These 9 nights should be viewed as one stay-one vacation. We're not going off property. We're staying at Disney World for 9 nights. However, by the time our ADR booking window opens up, the spots have all been taken by others who were able to book out for their length of stay from that first checkin date.
Just another example of how Disney doesn't value their DVC members.
We are doing the same thing and I totally agree! It is beyond ridiculous and makes no sense. I don't understand why they can't just link them so it shows up as one reservation?! I only have 2 splits so I feel your pain.
