Ok I feel pretty left out right now.

1.) NEW Disney Visa cardholders are offered a discount
2.) All Disney card holders are offered a discount
3.) Florida residents are offered a discount
(not sure if with or without AP)

What rooms will be left for the annual passholders that do not fit in any of the three above descriptions?

Do you think they (Disney) set a number of rooms at each resort for each type of discount they are offering? I have read some people not getting certain resorts with certain discounts,,,is that because the set number of rooms have been sold already or is it that the resort is really sold-out for their travel dates.

Driving myself nuts here and I'm sure there are others in my boat.

So heres to wishful thinking that tommorow will be the day I can edit this post and add number 4 above

4.) Annual passholders ,no matter where they live and with or without Disney Visa, rates have been released.

No jumping on me I'm just a tad cranky.
I will be on the phone at 7 am anyone else?

i send an email to disney, that's what they replied me (i am canadian and i weren't allowed to apply disney visa, and i used to be member of disney club)
After assessing guest needs, it was decided that stronger promotional offers can be made using methods other than the Disney Club. With the launch of the
Disney-branded Visa credit card in spring of 2003, we believe that we have found a way to achieve our goal. The Disney Club ceased to exist on December 31, 2003.

Thank you for your correspondence regarding the geographic limitations of Disney's Visa?Credit Card from Bank One. We appreciate that you have taken the time to inquire about this situation.

Bank One is not chartered to do business outside the United States and its territories and therefore cannot legally accept a credit card application from a non-U.S. resident. Because a Country or a
province must charter banks in order to do business with its residents, Bank One cannot violate
these laws by accepting the residents' applications. Disney is considering developing an alliance
with banks in Canada and the UK and possibly other countries, but must find a bank that is an
appropriate partner and is willing to develop a card with a value proposition comparable to what we
have in the U.S. This is a time consuming process and it will be a while before we are ready to
announce such a partnership.

Lori, why don't you get a Disney Visa? Can't you charge your room to it and then transfer the balance to whatever card you choose, or just pay it off. :D

I agree Lori, I'm not interested in another credit card, I'm more than happy with the cards we have now and the way we can use our rewards...I'm not interested in a card that limits my rewards money to be ONLY spent with Disney...I dont like the limitation!

I was able to get a AAA rate at the AS's for April, which is 94.00 with tax included per night, so thats better than a rack rate, but not nearly as good as these Visa or FL resident rates..

THe only thing I've got going for me right now is the fact that the money I saved on my off site hotel reservation paid for my AAA membership, so this savings was cake. If I have to upgrade a park hopper, be it either mine or one of my DD's in order to save money its going to be close if it's worth it. Right now, I'd have to get my room for $27.00 cheaper a night, and that includes tax!...not looking too promising..Its working out to a room for 67 per night including tax.

I will be on the phone at 7am tomorrow, just as I was today, (and again around 130pm, and again around 630pm) to see if they've come out and what they're offering. I"m not holding my breath, especially since it's the AS's I'm staying at.

One thing I did do though was book my vacation where I was comfortable staying and paying...I read this a lot on the cruise board when it comes to upgrades....basically it's book where you're okay...able to pay etc.. because as we know these discounts are never guaranteed.

I'll be happy to keep AS Movies at 94 a night, without getting an AP and an AP rate!....

Good luck to those of you that are waiting on this

Brandy

I have applied and was denied but I was able to purchase DVC thru Disney and their financing.

Bank one/DisneyVisa have stricter guidelines and my debt to income ratio if too high well I owe DVC about $8000 and I own a house with another 27 years of payments so that debt looks huge too. But the kicker is I have a Disney credit card from 1999 not co-branded with a bank. One you can use at WDW or Disneystore or online. and I will close that one a switch to DV.

I will call the customer service number in the morning and see if they can review my application again.

I will be fine in the morning...just had a long day

Lori

Brandy,
I'm staying at POP Century and also have AAA rate so I'm ok with it. I have stayed at Sports three different times and loved it.I have a AP already so any discount is extra money for character meals. I think they should release all the discounts at once.
Alot of people are taking what they can get now and will still switch is AP rate is better. That makes alot more work on the CM part. Could possible be 4 modifications. rack rate...AAA rate...DIsney visa rate...AP rate and that is how some reservatons get screwed up.

I'm off to bed now and will be thinking of the pixie dust landing in my house for the morning phone call I'm going to make.

(Oh thats not pixie dust??? just regular dust... are you sure? I'm still not cleaning it until AP rates come out.)

Lori,
I totally understand where you're coming from. I would NEVER apply for the Disney Visa for the following reasons:

1. I have enough credit cards and strive to have perfect credit. The Disney Visa has huge credit limits, this knocks your credit score down substantially. Just the act of applying, with whatever result happens, has a negative effect.
2. The rewards are not that great as compared to say my AMEX card.
3. When Disney discontinued the Disney Club they led everyone to beleive that there would be "new and exiting programs to take it's place." When they annouced the Visa with all of it's fanfare everyone was exited. It broke my heart to read post after post of people who were denied. What Disney was saying was "we will only award those who are Bank One worthy" This really shook me, because loyal Disney families were being told they weren't appreciated. I can understand corporate profit, but the Disney Club was FAIR to everyone, not just those who with good credit.

I feel so passionate about this that I booked the Swan for our upcoming trip. I am sure that Disney won't miss the $3000 that I was going to spend at the Poly, but I feel better! Sorry for the long post.

Treehugger...
Have you stayed at the Swan before? I have heard good and bad about it but you hear that about every resort. I will be staying at BWV in May for 3 nights after 3 nights at POP Century (which is what I'm looking for AP rates for.0

Heres wishing tommorow will be the day for the rest of us.

Lori

Lori,
No, I have not stayed at the Swan before but we did tour it when I was there in September and I was impressed. I received a great AP rate by just asking, $139 a night during peak season. You are totally correct about hearing good and bad about every resort, I figure if I go with an open mind I will have a great time. Actually I am looking forward to staying there, something new to try. I will be sure to post a trip report when I get home. Here's hoping that your rates come out soon!
