Well I'm trying once again to get off the medication I've been taking to stop the vomiting during my pregnancy. I tried about 3 weeks ago to stop taking it but had to start again after 3 days. Well today is day 3 and so far I HAVEN"T been sick! My stomach is a little off but hopefully that's all I will deal with. But I feel like myself again. Compozine is a depressant therefore I was EXTREMELY depressed from it. So much so that they wanted to put me on a anti depressant if I didn't improve soon. I am determined not to let that happen! I know if I start getting sick again I will have to take the medication for the babys sake but I'm crossing my fingers that it may be over. BTW I am now 25 weeks!!!!! 14 weeks to go-having a c section 1 week early. Hopefully time will fly because it's been a long 6 1/2 months so far!! I'm really starting to get BIG! Although I have only gained 6 or 7 pounds at this time. I know I will start packing it on soon though!
So I just wanted to share my excitment! If you could send some PD I could use as much as possible!
Thanks for listening!
Kim

Goodness, Kim, that sounds awful! Here's lots of PD that the vomiting and nausea will be over so you can stay off the medication. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Yikes, you sure have had it rough.
Hang in there and know it will all be worth it real soon.

It seems like yesterday when you announced yor pregnancy! I'm glad you're starting to feel better!

You must be having a boy! :) I was horribly sick with morning sickness (and noon and night sickness) when I was pregnant with my son. I threw up daily (sometimes 2-3 times) from the time I was 6 weeks pregnant until the day he was born. I don't know how I gained 40 pounds. Must be the calories stayed even though the food usually didn't. I even remember that almost every Sunday night, driving home from our mixed bowling league, I would have to have DH pull over so I could open the door and toss my cookies by the roadside. It was a miserable pregnancy. Then I got pregnant again and started having morning sickness so insisted the doctor "give me something" and he put me on compazine. On the third day I had a severe allergic reaction to it (loss of muscle control especially in my face and arms, eyes rolling back, etc.) so couldn't take it anymore. Thankfully I only had a few weeks of morning sickness and after the third month I was fine for the rest of the time, and had a daughter that time!! :)
I was recently told they no longer offer compazine here in Michigan, and one nurse said they don't even make it anymore, but if you're taking it must be they still do.

At any rate, I hope you feel better soon but even if you suffer from sickness the whole time at least there will be an end to it after you have the baby, and you'll forget all about it when you hold him/her in your arms that first time. :) Good luck to you!

Glad to hear your feeling better. I didn't know that Compazine was a depressant! Luckily, I had 3 uneventful pregnancies. Hope everything continues to go well... and in 3 months... a beautiful baby to show for all your difficulties!:D

I'm convinced that I am having another boy because I was sick like this with my 1st DS!!! I was put on compozine last time also-NO FUN! The one saving grace to the last pregnancy was that I didn't even have a CLUE I was pregnant until almost 2 months along! Made for a much shorter pregnancy! This time around we were "trying" so it seems MUCH longer. Part of me really wants another boy. I love the bond I have with DS and would love to experience it all over! Plus I have all the clothes and they are going to share a room so that would make life much easier when they grow!!!!!!!!!! Of course another part of me wants a girl because I already have a boy! Think of all the fun I could have dressing her, doing her hair and having that "friendship" when she gets older! Either way I'm blessed, right? This is definately my last pregnancy though. I know I could NEVER convince myself to do it again! Especially with 2 little ones to take care of- not to mention the kids I watch during the day! I always wanted 2 children so I got what I wanted!!!
Thanks for all the well wishes. I needed them. Hope I can stay off this time. I'm still feeling O.K. just a bit nauseous but haven't gotten sick so there's hope! Keep your fingers crossed!
Kim

Hang in there, Kim!!! Hope you continue to feel well!

Good luck and more pixie dust on the way.

Can't judge a pregnancy by vomiting...I was nauseated with 2 of my boys and had absolutely nothing with my 3rd son. Hope you keep feeling reasonably well...nothing worse than nausea...

I can't believe you are this far along either. TIme has flown. Hope things go well for you and you stop throwing up. I was on this med too, I had no idea it was a depressant, but that explains a lot! It's so horrible to be on!

I'm so glad that you are feeling a little better. I hope you stay happy and healthy for the rest of your pregnancy.

My late brother also had a recation to compazine during chemo treatments for colon cancer.

His face "locked" up so it looked like he was smiling harshly and couldn't blink. His fingers curled.

I can still see his face sitting in the ER. He was trying to cover it and I saw one tear roll down his cheek. Gosh, I HATE cancer!!!

If anyone feels anything weird after taking this med, call your doctor.

I had 9 months of "morning sickness"- thank god for compazine or I think I would have died! I was hospitalized 2 times due to dehydration and even threw up the morning she was born.......she is now 11.5, tall and beautiful........11 1/2 years later I still rib her about the awful time she gave me! I have one older DD (15) and had NO sickness with her....lots of morning sickness with DS, 7. My last DD (age 5) I had no sickness and a wonderful delivery......if I had guarrantee pregnancies like her's I'd have ten more!

I found that coke syrup helped, I hated crackers, and I ate what "sounded" good, whatever it was. Popsicles were often a life saver. Keep your doctor posted so you don't get dehydrated and hang in there.....believe it or not (well, adolescence IS a challenge) the kid is worth every minute of it! Sending prayers and pixie dust!

I had 4 boys and all 4 pg's very different. MS for 4 months with first. None with 2nd. A couple of times with #3 and my whole pf with #4. My dr didnt want to give it to me unless I couldnt keep anyhting down and some stuff would stay down. It was just a guessing game what would stay and what would come back up.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed the rest of your pg is MS free. Its awful way to spend 9 months.

Kim....I feel your pain!!!:( My doctor's have only ever given me Phenergan suppositories...would that be an option for you?

Here's hoping it goes away soon!!!!!

Also wanted to say.

I'm glad you're feeling better.

And, to the poster who said something about Coke syrup-you're right. You're talking about the soda, right.

Whenever I have an upset stomach I try drinking a Coke slowly and it does help.
