DH deploys at the end of the month. :guilty: My DS is watching the Elmo movie right now actually and it's finally starting to sink in. We haven't been here in HI long and I'm still making friends and learning my way around, it always seems like he deploys right after we PCS, LOL!

Just wanted to vent. DH was being "distant" yesterday to me, and then it hit me that we always go thru this before the deployment. Today is a better day, he took DD to the beach for daddy&daughter time.

Only 2 more weekends left. :scared:

I'm sorry. I completely understand the dread but ready to get it started. I am the one that usually tries to pull away as the deployment gets closer but my husband sure won't let that happen. Take lots of pictures together now before he leaves and make some happy memories. In a couple months, work on a little photobook for your husband as a present. It'll make you both feel better afterward.

It's never easy and by the end Im just ready for it to start. Right now we are doing the long distance "dating" again and I HATE it. I told him I would rather he be in another country where I couldn't see him than where I can only see him every so often. Plus now Im thinking on top of this we still have the blasted deployment to get through.

We all are going to get through this though. We are some tough chickys. I have faith in us all.:wizard:

Thank you for your encouraging words! :) I think your suggestion of a photobook is a great one, I think he'd love that!

I'm sorry you're going thru this too! DH has been gone over 1/2 the year already and still has to do the deployment too(though not as long as you Army wives have, yikes!!! Those have got to stink!) We really miss spending time together. :( I know you understand! Luckily DH thinks he'll have access to email everyday, so that really helps.

In a way I want it to just get here but I'm totally dreading it at the same time!

I wish I was on the mainland so I could take the kids to Disney while he's gone, but we'll just have to plan that trip for after his return. We joke that it's our "happy place", LOL!

I completely understand just wanting to get it started but wish time would stop. It sucks thinking you are wishing away time but I know that the sooner the deployment starts the sooner it's over.

I don't know about ya'll but we always have a family goal for the deployment and we work toward it together. There is always a vacation. We send emails/IMs back and forth with suggestions about locations, activites, lodging, food, or whatever. We also shop online together to make choices for whatever is coming whether it be Christmas or new furniture. It helps keep us close as a family.

If you do decide on a photobook, I use shutterfly and it's great. I chose a litlte one that is a binder and can be put in one of his cargo pockets.

Btw, we all have it hard and don't ever feel like you should have to justify that you are sad but army people have it worse or whatever. You and your kids love your husband/dad and it's normal to miss him no matter how long he is gone. Here we should all get that it's just about getting along day to day no matter the branch, we are all working for the common goal: keeping our sanity and family together:hug:

I am very sorry about all of this!

Please try to-BE HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:hippie:

:grouphug: Here's a hug for you. I know what it's like my DH has been deployed since Feb. Luckily he has an internet connection in his room with a web cam so the kids get to talk to him on a somewhat regular basis. The hard part is almost over for us he should be home in a few months. Looking back now it seems like it has flown by. Hopefully it will be the same for you.:grouphug:

My DBF has been in Saudi for a month....but he was in Germany since October before that...so by the time he gets back it will be well over a year...but I still miss him as much, if not more, as I did when he first left...

Thanks guys!

He brought me a coke home so I'm happy now, LMAO. We are watching a movie we rented tonight. It's all about spending time before he leaves!
