Feeling a litle abandoned...

The OP must have found her airfare, because she hasn't been back. Looks a bit like a drive by posting. I haven't seen Disney airfare plans in a long time, but I do know that I always do much better if I book directly with the airlines than I do through any service.

Here's a little tip:

Make yapta.com your friend.

It tracks the prices of flights you're interested in. Our flights went from over $300pp down to $108. After all the "fees" tacked to the reissue of the tickets we still each get $62 back in vouchers.

If you still have a long ways to go until your trip, plug in your info now and let it do the dirty work for you.
Just make sure you check your emails daily to catch the rates when it's the lowest.

Good luck!

Wow, that sounds intriguing - how does it work? I mean the refund when price changes part.

The website states that they will help you get a refund if the price changes after you bought your tix.
But I did our refund process ourselves. Basically the refunds depend on which airlines you use.
Most airlines will give you the price difference in flight vouchers minus reissue/change fees. So you will call the airline and tell them the price of your tix have gone down to $x form $y. Then they will see availability and calculate the difference minus change fee and give you the amount in voucher. Just make sure that the amount is above $0.

I'm not sure how Yapta could help in the refund area since as I said I did it myself. But I found that they are lots of help in the price tracking area.
It's amazing how much the prices would go up and down and up in down in just 3 months time. Ridiculous ... the way airline prices their tickets.

Anyways, check our preferred airlines fees related to changes. I know Delta and United charges $150/tix (yeah, crazy right?), but some other airlines are cheaper.
I think Southwest doesn't charge any change fee like others do. I wish Southwest does direct from our airport but we're stuck with the ones that charges extras...

So does Yapta only track Continental? That's all I could get on it when I looked, and since that would always be a plane change from here, I'm not too interested.

hmm... not that I know of.
I tracked Delta, Airtran and I think United as well.

Although it's not definitely related to DVC...I totally understand what you are saying and feeling...two years ago for President's Week I tried and tried and couldn't find the right airfare out of NYC...so I ended up taking the Amtrak from NYC to Orlando...maybe you could give that a try...as another side note...last year when I still couldn't find a great price to MCO we changed our try to VGC and the airfare was cheaper than going to MCO...my first California trip and it was great...

You'll never find the right price for flights out of the Northeast to Florida Presidents Week. We have traveled over ever holiday including July 4th, Easter, Christmas, and none have been as expensive as our Presidents Week flights. Everybody wants out of the NE after 3 months of winter!:)

Watch southwests fares as it get close to the 3 month mark, when they lower their fares many other airlines lower theirs also (although with baggage fees, SW is often lower anyway)

You are in the heart of one of the busiest seasons so finding good fares is very challenging (even for travel agents)
