Has anyone ever heard about going to wilderness lodge and watching the animals be fed? Can someone give me some information on this? Times to go and all that? Thanks alot!!!

Where they have goats, donkeys and calfs, etc. You can get feed for them from machines for a quarter per handful. They also have a stable you can walk through to see the horses that work in different areas of WDW,very neat. Also offer pony rides where you can put little one on pony and then walk with them around on fenced in track.I think pony rides are $2.This area is open from around 9am to dusk. :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:

It sounds like you mean the petting zoo that is at Fort Wilderness, not Wilderness Lodge. it is just a boat ride over. Try to have a meal at Trails End Buffet while you are there. Good food and a good value!
WL is our favorite resort but I know of no animals there.

I was wondering if the OP got AKL mixed up with WL. While you can't feed the animals at AKL, you can watch them at feeding time from some great vantage points.

At Fort Wilderness they have a petting zoo, but no animals like that at Wilderness Lodge (Except the ducks, of course). I don't have much info on it, but do know that getting to Ft Wilderness does take some time, but could be fun to do on an off day - that is, unless you're staying at a resort where the boat takes you, in which it wouldn't take too long. I think they have just the usual petting zoo animals there, and also horses you can pay to ride on a trail and such.

I think www.allearsnet.com has lots of info on it if you look around a bit.

NOw, at Animal Kingdom Lodge you can go view the Savannah, but not feed them.

We didn't find the animal feedings at AKL to be very exciting, though we did totally enjoy staying there and viewing the animals in general.

At FW, my DD loved the pony rides, but we didn't feel the petting zoo was all that great...there's really not much there.

At WL, the ducks were quite funny. I wouldn't make a trip there just to see them, after all they're just ducks, but if you're staying there you can't miss them if you spend any time at the pool. There were ducklings when we stayed there. They kept jumping into the pool but they were too little to get back out. The mama duck was quacking at them and the CM's had to keep helping them out. :teeth: Very cute.
