Would anyone be willing to give me feedback on my MK touring plans? My group is me and DH, our DS7 and DS4, and my in-laws who are in their mid/late 70s. This will be my boys' first trip to WDW, and the rest of us have not been there for decades. Our trip is the first week of May. We plan to visit the parks on EasyWDW-recommended days. We will be at MK twice, on Tuesday and Friday (crowd level 5). I have included pretty precise times below so that I can figure out when to make our FP+ reservations, but please note that I am not expecting things to go exactly as planned and I am prepared to be flexible. I already have my ADRs at Crystal Palace and BOG, as well as a Pirate's League reservation, and I have tried to create touring plans that will work with them. I am going to go ahead and assume SDMT will be open the first week of May, but I am aware this is totally up in the air. All that being said, what do you think? Thanks in advance!

TUESDAY:

Looks absolutely perfect... Especially since you have being flexible in mind..

Great job! :thumbsup2

What about character meet and greets? I know our plans often got side tracked due to our two LO DS5 and DD3 seeing a character and wanting to meet them and have them sign there books. Even the quick lines were 5-10 min and the actualy meeting could be another 5 min if they are really interactive. Also if some are don't miss characters for the kids you may want to schedule those in. Like for our LOs it was buzz/wooddy/Jessie for DS and the prinesses and tinkerbell for DD.

Thanks, TinyDancer! :thumbsup2

And thanks for the suggestion, GWhitten98. I am really not sure how interested my kids will be in the character meet & greets. We are going to do a fair number of character meals, so I am hoping that will help to address any character-greeting desires they might have. My general strategy was to try to build in fairly generous time blocks between attractions with the idea that if we are running ahead of schedule, we can work in some meet & greets, but without trying to really schedule around them.

I would either move seven dwarves mine train to before breakfast or a bit further after breakfast, particularly as it's a buffet!

Coasters (even relatively mild ones) right after eating isn't necessarily a great idea!

I'd do Belle and WtP first maybe, then the mine train later in the morning.

Other than that, looks good :)

It depends on your kids, of course, but mine could never go from rope drop until 5:00 or 6:00 without some downtime. We always went back to the resort after lunch for a swim and a nap. Then we'd go back to the parks for dinner and some more rides.

Our 5 year old melted by 1pm== back to the resort for a swim and a nap. (not a napper otherwise) but this was walking a lot every day

I would do rider swap at Space Mountain--- save your FP there.

Thanks, everyone! That's a good point about a coaster right after eating. As for the kids/downtime issue, my little guy seems to do okay with a long day (including at other amusement parks) as long as we finish and get to bed at a reasonable hour. Although it seems contrary to others' experiences with their own kids, I think if my crew went back to the resort to rest mid-day, they'd have a hard time getting their energy back up to do more in the evening.

Just thought I'd give this a bump in case any of the weekend crew may have thoughts on this touring plan? I really tortured myself over this one and would love any feedback. Thanks!

I noticed two things that I would change:

I wouldn't go for Enchanted Tales with Belle at 9:45 without a FP+. I think the wait will be too long. I would switch it with Pooh. Ride Pooh first, then do Enchanted Tales with FP+. (If you're concerned about backtracking, it really won't involve much extra walking to do this.)

I think you have allowed plenty of time for each of your attractions, with one exception: Tom Sawyer's Island. I wouldn't try to take a raft over there at 12:15 and then expect to make a 1:00 ADR (which you will want to be 10-15 minutes early for). Our grandsons can easily spend an hour exploring the island with its bridges, caves, and fort, and waiting for a raft (and riding) to and from the island can take up some time too.

Thanks! I wondered that about ETWB, but I'm told you miss a part if you use the FP line (Belle's cottage maybe?). But I'll think about changing it. Thanks for the advice re Tom Sawyer's Island. I think if we spend more time there than I allocated we should be okay because CHH is quick serve, not an ADR. I really appreciate your advice! Good to know you think most of my timeframes look okay!
