I was browsing one of the Navigators and saw that there is a fee to use the workout facilities. Is this a daily charge or a one time fee? Is the fee only for classes or for weights and treadmills as well?
Thanks!

I worked out each morning, got there a couple minutes before 7 so I could get the machine I wanted. (It got crowded at about 7:15). No charge for the fitness center at all (machines, free weights).

You can request a headphone set (for the TVs/radio) at n/c from the front desk. Water is provided (and I saw coffee & tea, too).

I think the fees are for personal trainer consultations.

PS When you're on a treadmill, you can look thru the glass into the bridge of the ship and straight ahead into the water, too. Lovely views!

In June the extra charges were for the classes like Pilates,Yoga and Kickboxing. There are no others charges that I know of. I even vaguly remember someone saying that they changed the fees for those classes back to free. Not totally sure on that last bit though.

We did the 7 night DCL western in July. I worked out every day and like the previous posters stated, there is no fee to use the equipment. I used an elliptical and the view was INCREDIBLE. I have a pretty nice view when I work out at home, but nothing like that!

And my 17 year old was very disappointed to learn you have to be 18 to use the facilities.
He plays high school baseball, we were on the NYE cruise, and he was hoping to continue his workouts on the ship. Stupid rule in my book for a family cruise ship.

They removed the fees for the classes, so now those are free too.

Thanks Barb, I was hoping that was true.

tvguy-there are a few scheduled teen sessions in the evening. They are scheduled at 9:00pm unfortunately during the late seating. I believe it is called Pump it up in the teen Navigator.

Yes, they are 2 half hour periods where kids can go into the exercise room during the 7 day. But you have to be in the clubs (my kids found too many things to do elsewhere to do the clubs), and yes, it is during late seating, which we had.
My son is used to working out an hour a day......so even if we had early seating it would have been useless. Just seems strange on a FAMILY cruise not to have certain hours everyday when those under 18 can use the equipment.
