Having a major extension done and almost at the end now after spending 5 months sleeping in a caravan! :faint:

On Sunday we discovered that a few things have been stolen from the house including our camcorder. This had all this years recording on including our trip to Legoland a couple of weeks ago! :furious:

Also we had a limited edition of Whisky which was a wedding gift and we planned to drink it on our Silver wedding with our Best man who bought it for us. It was already 14 years old and these are bought as investments as they just increase in value each year. No doubt drunk by now so I hope they choked on it!

Other stuff includes a Wii game, 100 euros and money from the kids money boxes. However the kids money and Wii game had gone missing earlier and we just thought we'd misplaced the game and it would show up when we were all straight again. As for the girls money I started to think I'd borrowed some and not put it back.

We suspect the tiler as we know the Camcorder, charger and Whisky went on Friday and the police are coming tonight. He worked for us Mid may and we discovered the other stuff missing at the end of May as they were not things you looked for every day.

Not sure if we're insured as it's not a break in :confused3

I know I'm too trusting and like to think the best of everyone until they prove otherwise. I just really hope we're insured for the Camcorder as this cost £700 4 years ago and there's no way we can buy one before our holiday in 2 weeks!

Not sure the police will even follow it up - will let you know!

Ah well - rant over.

How awful, I hope you get it sorted & catch the person who did it:hug:

That is terrible, i hope the b*(sorry just makes me so so mad ) get caught, how awful for you for this to happen. I hope the police manage to recover your stuff, and if it is the tiler who you obviously trusted to do the work in your house-hope he is named and shamed.
sending you

how awful, hope the police catch whoever did it, sending you a

So sorry to hear about this. Life has obviously been tough enough on you for the last few months, living in a caravan and all. To have this happen must really make you feel so angry. Whoever it was knew your situation and knew you wouldn't be checking on your belongings daily, they took advantage of that and that's particularly nasty.

Sending you some  and some :wizard: that your recover some money back.

That is such a horrible thing to happen to you Janet.

I hope the scumbags get caught and you manage to recover your belongings.

Once the police get involved you might be surprised and find some of the things 'turn up' again- This happened to a friend of a friend of mine's parents. All the work was finished, and they'd found some things missing- Inc. a digital camera and a bottle of very VERY expensive wine.... Once word got out that the police were involved, the camera turned back up on the doorstep (Albeit with the photos erased), and a replacement bottle of wine (Not the same, but laughable that they tried to cover it up....)..... They stopped the police being involved after that, so it was obviously someone who'd been working on the house!!

I would love this to happen with the Camcorder tape. You just can't get the memories back. We had our first real snow this year since having the girls and they built a 6ft snowman. Who knows if this will ever happen again and would they ever remember having so much snow? :confused3

Also there was footage of their first roller coaster ride! Little things I now but it sooooo anoying!

Anyway thanks for all your kind words - perhaps I could send part of him on the next ging gang goolie minus his ging and gang!!!!! :rotfl:

This was quite a long time ago (When digi cams were very new things- You know, like carrying a brick....)..... The person in question lived in a very small area so I think whoever it was was just scared of getting caught out.....

I hope it all gets sorted for you.

Im so sorry to hear about this, its the irriplacable memories that must be the most upsetting out of all this. I really hope your things just suddenly reappear, I like you am to trusting of people and DH is constantly telling me to be careful but its not easy to change the type of person you are. Keep us updated and feel free to rant away.

Sending you a:hug: :flower3:

Im so sorry to hear about whats happened, i really hope the police nail the scum bags who took your things.

Im having a new kitchen fitted and i popped out to the shop yesterday, left the builder and electricians to get on with there work and now i cant find my digital camera. Hopefully i have misplaced it. Will have to have a look when the place isnt so messy.

So sorry to hear this Janet,i hope the Police do follow this up+i really hope that the Insurers do pay out-but like you say+i would say the same thing-it's the memories that you can't get back+that is the upsetting part in all of this. Please let us all know what happens+i really hope you get some type of a result from this.x.

That's awful, the rotten scum bag :headache: , I hope the police can help? and I too agree these people should be named and shamed, especially when they prey on vunerable and trusting customers

That's terrible, I really hope the police manage to get it back or they feel guilty and bring it back

sorry to hear about this happening to you, we are trusting people too but it just goes to show that it doesn't pay to be.
