Every so often we try to buy an 'experience' (rather than a physical gift) for my DH's parents for Christmas and Birthday. In the past we have taken them to see the Lion King and this year they were going to see Pavarotti at Warwick Castle.

I have just had a phone call telling me that the tour has been cancelled due to 'ill health' AAAAAAaaarrrrggghhhh- I've just rung to tell them and they are, of course, disappointed. I am not sure if they will keep the hotel booking they made as they were hoping to make a weekend of it :guilty:

Feeling a bit fed up! Not sure what we will get them instead any ideas welcomed:)

Thanks for letting me vent

Oh no :( Have you had a look on ticketmaster to see if there is anything else they might like???

Just had a quick look for Birmingham that weekend but no joy as yet. I'm sure we'll think of something - just a shame as it was DH's idea and bless him, he doesn't have many ;)

LOL ~ Hope you get something sorted out Jo :grouphug:

Have a try on somewhere like lastminute.com they have some experiences and things on there!

How about sticking with their plans, but having the Medieval Banquet at Warwick Castle.

I hope you manage to sort something out for them :)

What a shame, Hope you get something sorted for them :goodvibes

Just to let you know that they asked for tickets for Romeo & Juliet at Stratford- Upon-Avon. They go Saturday night and I hope they have a great time :)

Pavarotti has cancelled due to cancer:

I did see that Tim after my original post and it makes the whole situation understandable and of course, forgivable.

The last concert I booked tickets for ended up being rearranged to the baby's due date of the friend I was going with (we didn't risk it) and sadly it transpired to be a marketing ploy to give them a couple of months to release a new album and try and sell more tickets :(

I guess I'm just sceptical these days. Thankfully it looks like his treatment went OK.

Warwick Castle didn't take out any insurance on this concert so I guess they will be taking a loss (though I did hear a rumour that it was because the premium was going to be greater than the potential loss :confused3 ]
