For those of you who have been to Disney in February, is it warm enough to wear shorts or is it typically t-shirt/pant weather? We are going the first week of Feb.
Thanks for your input! :earboy2:

We're wondering the same ... we went once in Feb (1996) and it was a very cold year for Florida ... 32 degrees one day .. but layering was fine ... glad we took gloves and hats ... am anticipating 70's this year ... ?hopefully????

32 degrees?! Shoot...thats a heat wave up here....it was -32 degrees almost everyday last week. I cannot wait until my february trip to get some sun and come back burnt. (i don't tan) and therefore i can say i burnt where it was warm, not skiing. ;)

we went last feb and we wore shorts every day..even got sunburn.....so yes it is definitely warm enough or should i say it can be warm enough for shorts.....

We were there for Presidents week last year and I would advise to bring capris and jeans because the mornings are cool, afternoons warm up nicely, and then at night it was cold. One day was exceptionally cold and rainy-we could have used our winter coats. We mostly wore a hooded sweatshirt with a light jacket over it(windbreaker style) then removed as the day went on. We carried a backpack with a Landend type fleece jacket for nightime. Hope this helps. (but we're hoping for HOT hot days this year. :sunny:

I agree with thedisneymom...we were there last feb 04 and some days we could wear t-shirts and shorts, the others was jeans and layered sweats. Unfortunately, the day can start off in shorts but you may have to end up in jeans during the month of Feb!

Makes for a lot more packing!

Orlando weather is almost identical to ours, and we almost always go to WDW the first week of February. (2/2-2/6 this time!) February, both in Orlando and here, are WEIRD... it could be 80, it could be 40. It could be 80 one day, and 40 the next. Or 40 later that day.

You just have to keep checking the forecast right up until you leave... just in the past two days of my checking, it has already changed pretty significantly, and I'm sure it will flip flop back and forth. I have learned to pack everything but clothes, and wait until the last minute to pack those when I'm semi-sure what the weather is going to be like. :)

Hi! The weather in February is great.. in Florida! Tourists usually have shorts and a t-shirt on , (even though it can get chilly) but other people just have on pants and a t-shirt. However, if you are comming form a place where it snows(the north) beware! We went away and a blizzard occured while we were gone! We came home to 2 feet of snow and an unplowed driveway!!!! It wasnt a pleasant homecoming

I agree with Gina. Pack abit of everything and watch the forecasts just before you leave. We've been a few times at this time of year and Jan and we hit a few hot days (80s) and other days we had to wear spring jackets. Its relative to what you are used to as well. Its often -30 to -40 here so theres no way I'll need a hat and gloves if its +30, lol. It will feel warm to me. Layers are best. I like windsuits, wear T-shorts and shorts under them and just strip as the day goes on.

We're leaving Feb. 9th for 10 days and I'm packing sweatsuit type outfits for all of us.

I also bought everyone the lightweight nylon type pants that zip off at the knee and turn into shorts. I figure whatever the weather, we'll definitely get wear out of those.

I know it's tough packing during this time of the year because the weather can be so varied. I remember two years ago we left for a Disney Cruise on Jan. 25th. It was 30 degrees when we got of the plane in Florida. The following week when we got back to port, it was sunny and 72!

You just never know!

The second day of our trip last year (Feb 12) was close to 85 degrees. The kids spent the day in the pool. Every other day was in the 70's but the year before it never reached 70 at all. You can never tell.

In february the late morning and into late afternoon can be warm (tshirt, even shorts weather) but most evenings and nights drop to the 50s. Now i dont know about everyone else...but Im cold natured (my mother teases me about it all the time because I can literally be shivering in the middle of July with long sleeves on) and you wont catch me in shorts in the 50s! The best idea as others have mentioned is layers, or if that doesnt appeal to you...bring a jacket or sweatshirt to throw on as the temps drop (this is DISNEY, you dont want to have a less the magical time due to that unpleasant teeth chattering :earboy2: ).

its almost 2 weeks away and i'm too checking everywhere how the weather may be, i've decided that for DH and I only jeans and sweats pants with t-shirts and sweaters... i'm a little cold natured my self, and for DD same little outfits made of sweats with t-shirst and sweaters and blankets just incase, i guess i really need to pack a bit more that what i was hoping for but oh well, i'm just so excited to be there already!!! i can't wait, can you tell how excited i am!!! LOL :sunny:  :moped: :cheer2:

I'm starting to fret about the weather - we arrive on the 5th feb and I was hoping to escape the cold UK weather but the forecast I've been looking at isn't too hot! Anybody know what it's likely to be FEb 5th - Feb 18th? (Get your crystal balls out!).

P.s. What is the significance of the 'Lime Green' lots of threads mention?

We were there last year Feb 16-22 and the weather was beautiful. You needed a jacket or sweatshirt in the morning and evening, but we usually had shorts and tees on during the day. One day it was a bit overcast and we wore a sweatshirt most of the day. On the days it was in the 70's we were able to swim in the pool because it was heated. We loved the fact that we didn't sweat in line all day. It was not humid at all and absolutely beautiful weather.

We went in Feb 2-10 in 2001 and the weather was perfect! Around 75-80. One day it was a little chily because it rained (but not hard). It was so nice to get away from the cold and it was like spring (a great mood lifeter and it was not crowded. Pack both shorts and pants and take a sweatshirt in case. We went again the last week of January 2003 adn was it COLD! That's when the northeast had frigid temps and we thought we'd escape them down in FL but it was pretty cold there too. The last day we were there is finally got above 60! I prefer to go down in Feb, but I have a child in school. We will go in the summer for a few more years and then before my other little girl starts school we'll go down in Feb again so we can go to all the parks and not have to wait in long lines. That way she can get to see more. I really don't like doing the parks in the summer.

Wearing lime green items (shirts, ribbons, whatever) at WDW identifies the wearer as a member of the DIS. It's a nice way to recognize each other there. :)
