Hi everyone!
just need the advice from anyone who has been to disney the first 2 weeks in february.. my husband has gotten a bonus and we have the opportunity to go. we usually go the first week in may but my 4th grader has MCAS testing.... this would be the only time we could go unless we wait until next thanksgiving.. we also drive... my 9 year old has severe anxiety. HELP!!!!

We go at the end of Jan - beg of Feb each year. The weather is awsome (usually btwn 75 -85 deg) and the lines are short. We can usually walk right on all the coasters in MGM and IOA. There is also never more than a 15 min ride on any of the rides at MK. We love that time of year and because we homeschool and have our own landscape company, that time of year is more convenient for us than any other. We love the warm/dry weather and the short lines, you will too!

We've had warm weather and cold weather at that time the last 3 years. Pack a little of each...shorts, pants, sweatshirts etc. Last year we ended up spending a bundle on new sweatshirts because it was much cooler than what we had been used to.

This should give you a fairly good idea of the weather in Feb.
Generally it is in the 60's most of the time...topping out in the low 70's.

We were there two years ago in early February. The first three days of our visit were cold and misty type rain. We had practically everything on from our suitcases including hats and mittens. Unfortunately we had left our winter coats in our car back home or we would have had those on!!! Then the last couple days of our vacation we were in swimsuits by the pool. You just never know. This time I'm going to be more prepared.

Even in April, May, & September (other times we visited) the weather is variable. We also will be there in February (9,10,11,12) at the AKL. May I suggest layers?
We live in Kansas where weather can change 35-40 degrees in a matter of hours, really! We adjust by taking along the following items:
1) light t-shirts (under shirts daddy called them),
2) sleeveless T's (some with turtle necks, try for cotton),
3) long sleeve blouses/shirts(wear open or closed),
4) lite jackets (zippered sweatshirt or fleece type),
5) large scarves/shawls can cover heads/shoulders/necks -- whatever gets cold,
6) fleece gloves (don't take up much room & nice to have),
7) pull-over v-neck cotton sweaters (wear t's or turtle necks under),
8) pants/slacks in a variety of lengths (shorts/capris).
Wouldn't hurt to throw in a lighter style leather jacket if you have one as they are great for wind protection.
Don't forget sandals, tennies & good socks. Alternate days on footwear (never wear the same pair two days in a row) and take along moleskin for potential blisters.
Gosh, do I sound like your mother yet!?!?
Oh, yea, I always take a 'compressed' style umbrella for protection from sun or rain! See why I use the motto at the bottom? Have fun!

We did early Feb for three years 1999, 2000, and 2001
1999 - Sunny and 70's everyday. Just warm enough for swimming.
2000 - Out of 6, we had two days in the 70's. The rest were in the 60's except for one particularly chilly day where it was 50's and rainy.
2001 - Sunny and 70-80's most days.
Crowds are very light. E-nights were a blast - MK totally empty. If I didn't have to worry about DD missing school we'd go at that time every year.
Best advise, bring your layers. And keep a positive attitude, the colder it is , the smaller the crowds.
