Constructive Criticism welcome (snow photos DH took) - also feel free to post your own.

I came home from work the other day and DH told me he had taken some photos when he was home for lunch of the snow. I had the camera set at AV and was shocked he had done so well. LOL

We were out walking the dogs when I noticed how pretty the sunset looked - so of course I had to grab the camera and find a place were I could get some decent shots without houses in my way.

This is basically the same as above - I like the picture better - but it is clearly out of focus - which totally bums me. I was standing in the middle of the road and a car was coming so I quickly took it. Then my very patient DH was losing his patience so I didn't redo it. I even tried sharpening it and this is the best I could do. :(

And my favorite of the three (the one above would have been my favorite if it had been in focus).

OK - 32 views and not one word. Now I am scared. LOL Are they really that bad? ;)

They look pretty good to me, looks like you're already got an idea of what did and didn't work about them. :)

We had almost a white-out last night - I should have gone out with the camera but MAN it was cold! I'm such a wimp!

i laughed when i saw the "snow' but then looked at your location so it made sense;) ....it was -1 this morning and now a boiling hot 5 degrees and probably a foot or more of snow here just to show you where i am coming from :lmao:

i like number 3 best i think as well...

i'll dig out some photos and post later..i have to get out the cds which i am to lazy to do right now

Loved the sunset pictures. Unfortunately, we don't get very many nice sunsets this time of year. Here is our snow from last weekend. It is about the same this weekend, but as jann and Groucho have commented - it's too cold to go out and take pictures.

Thanks so much Groucho and Jann.

I am just so new to all of this and I really want to learn so constructive criticism is always welcome. I guess I kind of doubt myself from time to time as well. "is it really OK, or do I just think it is ok?" Does that make sense?

LOL Jann I totally understand why you would laugh about the snow. Even though it didn't stick at all, anytime we get ANY type of snow or winter precipitation it is a big deal here. These were those huge wet fluffy flakes that look so pretty coming down - a very rare treat for Texas.

Steve's Girl now THAT is some snow! I love the one of your ?daughter? She looks like she is having fun. I grew up in Ohio and remember those days well. I do not miss them at all.

Silly as it sounds I am complaining about how cold it has been here lately - today is the warmest we have had in a while and it is 55. Just not used to it anymore.

I loved the pool one with the snow falling. That just seems so wrong. :rotfl: The last one of the sunset photos is really nice too. I don't see that it's out of focus. :confused3

I have taken hundreds of sunset/sunrise photos since we moved to Florida just over 2 years ago. It's like the daily entertainment. I try to always have the sunset in focus and not get too many objects midway between that and the fore ground. After all it's the sun's behavior I want people to focus in on.

Here's a few from Feb. of 06.

Those are all sunsets. Here's a sunrise picture taken on 1/31/07.

It's really addicting. Have clothes ready to throw on in a moment's notice in the morning. I can only imagine what my neighbors have been thinking when they see me outside at the crack of dawn trying to get that perfect shot.

I love the last two. VERY pretty.

Florida does have amazing sunrises and sunsets. I have spent many mornings during our vacations in Vero trying to get good shots with a PnS.

It will be fun to see what I can do with the DSLR.

they probably aren't nearly as shocked as my neighbors when they have seen me in my bright red robe out in the backyard taking sunrise photos:eek: :rotfl:

should we start a "self portrait - early morning sneaking around taking photos hoping no one sees us" thread? :lmao:

Yeah and we could get really good candids of the police officers who arrest us.

Man, I wish I could get out there and take some pictures of the snow. This morning was (wait for it)... minus 49 with the windchill (that's celcius)! Tonight's forecast is minus 44 without the wind. :scared1:

All of a sudden, that 50 degrees at Disneyworld last week seems downright balmy...

Ok - I will never complain about a Texas winter again.

lizziejane....where in the world do you live? MOVE woman:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: i thought -20 wchill was bad although i have no idea what that would be celcius

We live in Manitoba, Canada. The thing I keep asking is how did people live here 200 years ago? I can't imagine how they survived. -30 is the same temperature in both f and c.

The good thing about the really cold weather is that you don't need good brakes on the car. You take your foot off the gas and it just stops dead! :lmao:
