We are looking at next year's trip. We can go either the week leading up to Presidents Day or the week starting Presidents Day. Our other choice is mid March. So far the crowd calendars are about the same other than Presidents Day which is obviously more crowded.

Is there one week that would be better? We have never been in March to avoid Spring Break crowds.

There are no holidays in mid-March next year, and spring breaks are just too varied to factor them in unless you're talking Easter, so I would probably choose March. However, if staying onsite, I might check hotel costs to see if they are the same or one is cheaper than the other.

The week leading up to President's Day has Mardi Gras in it next year. I've always read the whole state has off and all the families flee to WDW. I've never been to WDW during that time so can't vouch for what it's like, but it does tend to get mentioned in the "times to avoid" chatter. The week after likely isn't all that much better with the Monday holiday then Princess Half the following weekend.

By mid-March you're in the spring break zone.

I 'think' for us I'd probably lean more towards mid-March. Likely more crowded but you have a bit better chance of warmer weather. We like to swim and have a lot of resort time, so that influences my thinking.

I went over President's Day weekend this year and the resort rates that weekend are NO JOKE. :earseek:

Good luck deciding.

Thank you for all of this great information! I hadn't considered any of this but I feel like I need to.
