Okay so I've checked my options so far. A few airlines have their schedules for February but a few I'm still waiting on - come-on Southwest!?
For 2 adults + 2 children Feb 11 - 17th.

Jetblue out of BUF - stopover in Boston - to MCO and return
$944.80 US
(we'd have to add hotel for one night in buffalo)
Sunwing out of Toronto - direct to MCO and return
$1728 CA.
(we'd have to add one more night hotel in florida as they don't fly back on 17th)
Westjet out of Toronto - direct to MCO and return
$2064.44 CA

Jetblue definitely ahead for this trip - even with the stopovers it's about $700CA difference! :thumbsup2
Anyone else having any luck - I'd love to wait for the Southwest flights to open up and then hope for a Ding! Will they exchange our tickets if this happens?

I've been doing the same thing, we are planning a late Jan/early Feb trip, and nothing looks good to me out of Halifax so far! Have never done SW but have heard lots of people who have--they will give you a credit for the difference if the fare goes down, to be used within one year, I understand. So, you can spend the $$ on something else--but only something else from SW! Not awful, but not a refund. Still, I think that's what we'll be hoping for, a good ding, and then MAYBE a better ding...

im looking for the deal we got last year on southwest $24.00 each way it was $115. round trip for 2 no-one woukld believe us when we told them .it was the ding rate and was gone in a couple of hours.

Hi!! We booked last week for Dec with Southwest. $822cad for 4. This week it went on sale, so we now have $240cad credit to use before 31 July 07. Call Southwest and ask when they post Feb's rates. We try to wait for Southwest( on yah it's a non stop). We went Airtran last NOv but they were $200 more this year. Paid $1075 cad last year. Sheck out when/if USA holidays are on in Feb it might make a diference in price. Good luck!

I think Martin Luther King day is in Jan?

Presidents' Day is Monday Feb 20. I checked.

We went in May after the Queen's Birthday; COMPLETELY forgot about Memorial Day, and OY! the crowds! Not doing the same thing this time...

We are doing the same thing. We are going to wait for SW out of Buffalo. Making plans and ADR's based on when we HOPE we can get a flight for, we'll have to change plans if necessary. We can't trade in the tickets and it is going to be hard to wait for the DING, this is probably the only flying we will be doing for a while .

Just had a thought, my parents fly all the time, could I give them my SW credit????

We're going out of Halifax late Jan/early Feb but will be going on aeroplan miles. I'll be booking probably this week.

then I'll be looking for deals on rentals possibly hotels/tickets etc...

We've already booked our room - we're dvc so we need to book early. Last year we were there 2 weeks before Pres Day - the weather was nice through the day, cool in the mornings and evenings and there were very few lines for rides. So we thought we would go the week before Pres Day this year - hoping for slightly warmer weather and I'm told the crowds are still small - although they may get busy at the end of the week (the Friday and Saturday before Pres Day).
I'm worried if we wait for a DING we won't find a flight for our exact dates - arrive 11th leave 17th. Plus there are 9 of us (my parents and my brothers and sister are joining us). So I think I'll just book SW and accept a credit if a deal come up. Anyone know when the Feb flights are released - everyone else seems to have posted theirs already?

Hey, yes $144 down and then $99 back plus taxes, times are great too.
Don't forget you get to assign your seats at booking.

We flew Southwest from Buffalo in February this year and I seem to recall they didn't release December - March flights until around October 20th.

:thumbsup2 Thanks - I'll keep checking and will post when they open up. They just seem so slow compared to the other airlines...

We flew JetBlue last year from Buf to JFK to Orlando. Not bad we went in Feb. I would check the prices online everyday almost it seemed :) But right around the American thanksgiving they had a hudge seat sale and we got the flights really REALLY cheap. Hoping that we can go again this year..
