February crowds and weather

We always visit in Jan but have gone in Feb, as other have said the weather can be warm or cool to cold, it just depends on the year you go…

As far as crowds go it has been my experience that it is busier during the Daytona 500 & Presidents Day, other than that it should be pretty good. I hope you enjoy your visit!

We were there Feb 12-28, 2012. The first week definitely had lower crowds than the next week (which is school vacation for a large part of the northeast US). The weather was very warm except for one cold night. If you're looking at February, I'd avoid that one school vacation week, but otherwise it's a great month to go.

I live in central, west FL (about an hour and half west of WDW). Early Feb is still pretty cool here and late Feb starts "spring" and March is almost summer. Daytime can be 60's or 80's. Last year it was pretty warm.
We stayed at VWL in Feb and needed jackets at night but remember, I live in FL so anything under 70 degrees is cool to me. ;)

Bring a jacket but bring shorts too. Check the weather a few weeks prior. If Jan trend is warm in FL (like it was last year) then Feb will be warm too. 2 years ago, Feb was still very cold here so there are no promises.

As far as crowds, Jan/Feb are my fav months to go to the world. Not high crowds but still very busy. It's very manageable but starting in March, the spring breakers start to appear and I try to stay away until end of May.

We were there President's week in 2009 and it was crowded and brutally cold!! It think that is the coldest weather Florida has seen in years. Rain, wind and daytime temps in the low 40's. We we stayed at BLT that year and spent most of the week watching movies in our villa. Last January we experienced 2 days of 70's and the rest of our week with daytime temps in the 50's. We are going Feb 2013 and I know packing will be difficult. I'm hoping for very warm weather.

We went the end of February 2011. It was warm- in the 80s- however we spoke with other fellow vacationers and they indicated that if we had come just a few weeks earlier, it would have been much cooler and rainy. We typically go to WDW in October and I felt the crowd levels were similiar, which I think is fair to midland. However, we did plan poorly and ended up going to Hollywood Studios when it was ESPN weekend or something and the crowd levels were much higher. I remember waiting in line to see Fantasia and the line went all the way back to the Sorcerer's Hat. It was crazy!

We have gone the last 2 years at that time and plan on being there 2/8/13 to 2/16/13 at OKW. This is a great week since its the week before the busy Presidents Day week. Weather has been cold some days and other days we were swimming in the pools, it can be hit or miss. Enjoy your stay.

I will be there the same week, which is Mardi Gras week for us Louisiana folks. It is a good time for us to go because the kids are off of school. So, you may see a lot of Saints and LSU fans, but it won't be as crowded as President's week.

When you say crowds are low - give examples. I have been spring break, summer, 4th of July, Christmas. I know what crowded looks like. I'm just trying to get an idea of what to expect this trip. Jan. 30- Feb. 4, 2013

The crowds will be nothing compared to the other times you have gone. A lot of rides will be walk on.

February where I am from is usually cold, in the 20's, so any increase in temps is welcome! When we went last year it was gorgeous! No matter what, you will have a great time if you are prepared with your layers. Have a blast!

Popular rides like Haunted House, Buzz Lightyears, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, in the early morning 9-10am are walk on, no wait. Then mid-day those same rides might have a 10-15 wait. During Spring Break/X-Mas the typical wait is every bit of 60+ minutes!

I've done Spring Break a couple of times, I don't put myself through it anymore!

We have lived here since 1990 full time and February is IMO one of the best times of the year. Light jacket type weather and crowds are not so bad.

Totally looking forward to these temperatures at Disney. I'll be there 2/9- 2/14 wearing my saints shirt!!!!

We went in early February in 2009 and loved it crowd-wise. The parks were like ghost towns.

The weather that year was brutally cold (there was a frost warning all week and temps were highs in the 30s, 40s and low 50s that week). I guess I didn't pay attention to the weather while packing because the only thing resembling "cold weather gear" I had was a pair of capris instead of shorts. :lmao: Ah, to be young and stupid again.

Keep an eye on the weather in the days leading up to your trip and you should be fine! Have fun!

I went that year (week before President's Day) and I did not see any ghost town like parks. It was body to body in DHS and I had to wait an hour at DAK for the Kilimanjaro Safari. Weather was ok but I never wear shorts or capris in FL in the winter. I have made several Feb. trips and always need some sort of jacket or sweatshirt. I also don't swim (too chilly). I have run into windy and rainy weather (one year I even heard a tornado warning siren in Kissimmee). I would plan to layer and take a jacket.

I know there have been a million "what to wear in Feb" posts but if I wear jeans in the morning b/c of chilly morning weather, will I be miserable wearing them all day?? For my daughter, its easy b/c I can throw on leggings and long sleeves under her dresses but for myself, I think I'll have to do jeans in the morning and bring shorts for later?? I'm a weinie when it comes to cold weather, too ... its 50 degrees here today and I'm bundled up! LOL
