Cast of characters:
Mary (celebrating 50th b-day) veteran Disney fan – loves Mickey as Sorcerer
Dave – DH – has been converted into as much of a Disney fan as me. Grumpy is his favorite character.
Kim – DD – (celebrating 16th b-day) been going to Disney since she was 3, loves it as
much as Mom does! Loves Goofy and Tigger.

We are DVC members and usually go to WDW every year. We bought into DVC in 1993 and have been at least 15 times since then and have definitely gotten our monies worth! It has actually been more than a year since we were at Disney, so we decided to celebrate my 50th and DD 16th in style by heading to my favorite place – Disney! DD wanted to stay at our home resort, so we booked OKW.

We originally had booked a week in a one bedroom unit during the week between Christmas and New Years, but thought better of that idea and changed our reservation to the week of February 19 (my DD winter break). My DH hates crowds, so when he suggested the Christmas week, I knew it would change! The February week will be busy, but I’m sure will not be as crowded! Since the Christmas week uses a lot of points, I splurged and booked a 2 bedroom unit. We’ll have lots of room and the plan is to try and keep the living room area uncluttered now that we don’t have to use the sofa bed.

Since this is a trip to celebrate 2 birthdays, we plan on doing several fun events. We are taking the Keys to the Kingdom tour and the Segway tour at Epcot. When I told my best friend about the Segway tour, she laughed and said – don’t fall off and break your arm (I’m not exactly graceful). We are also going to see Cirque de Soleil the night before we come home. We are all very excited and can’t wait to go.

We live in Connecticut and earlier today had to deal with at least 18 inches of snow. Nothing like having to shovel that much white stuff to get you in the mood for sunny Florida :sunny: . I have to work Monday – Saturday, so I’ll have plenty to keep me busy until we leave. Both DD and I packed as much as we could today so I won’t have so much to do once I get off work on Saturday to get us ready. Now DH has to decide was he is bringing!

More to come once we get to Disney

My DH reminded me that the tour we are going on is the Backstage Magic Tour, not the Keys to the Kingdom. So -- for those of you that wanted to know about the Keys to the Kingdom tour -- sorry, I'm not going to tell ya

Can't wait to hear how your trip goes - esp the Sedgway Tour (sp). Won't it be fun leaving all that cold weather behind? :bday: to you and your daughter in advance!!

Sounds like you have a lot of great things planned. I got to do half of a Segway tour (only the training, as it was raining that day), but it was a lot of fun to ride on them.
