February Availability???

Can anybody tell me if there is any remote chance that I would be able to book a studio at any of the DVC properties between Feb. 11 and 18? My wife and I have just made an impulse decision to go down for this week (leaving the three children behind -- although the whole family is going down in mid-March). We picked up a great on flights (from Ottawa, Canada), and I have found some hotel availability on the discount internet sites (I called Central Reservations, and things are unbelievably booked). I am trying to decide whether to grab the hotel deals while they are available, or wait until Monday to see if I might be able to grab a DVC reservation (for some or all of the week). Any input is appreciated.

The week starting the 18th would be the start of Presidents week, a VERY busy time. We have a 3 day stay Feb. 12-14, and when I asked the CM {when I made these reservstions} about the following {presidents} week. she kind of giggled and said, "are you kidding? that's presidents week!"
So, if you hurry, you should be able to get something for that time. {11-18}

If you altered your stay just slightly, you may have better luck on reservations. Last year I had ressies for spring break-- and fell and broke my knee at Christmas! I ended up on disability thru March, so I decided on the spur of the moment to go down. I went the Sunday AFTER President's Week, and got ressies a week before I left. It was cold and rainy, and I was in a wheelchair, but I still had lots of fun! I was willing to take whatever was available, too, and we ended up with a one-bedroom at SSR.

You MIGHT have a CHANCE as it's a bit before president's week...I tried to book (in November) on DVC property for my trip 2/17 - 2/22 and there weren't any studios available for that time ANY where....I happily put the points to the CBR! Good Luck!

I was able to get a studio at BCV for 2/2 about a week before.
