We arrive around 11:30 a.m. at LAX on Feb. 8. We were planning on going to DL the next day (the 9th)...with no real plans for the day we arrive. The calendar is out for those days and I see that on Feb. 8 DL is open from 9 am to 9 pm that...this intrigues me! Now I'm contemplating getting a two-day park hopper ticket so we could go to DL the day we get in becuz it does give us a whole extra hour that the park is open. Then the next day we could go again in the morning and jet over to CA too. We leave for San Diego on the 10th so that day is out for sure.

Is something going on on Feb. 8 that the park is open for two extra hours vs the 10 to 8 that it's open around that date? (I didn't see anything out of the ordinary) And is it worth it for us to park hop on such a short trip? We wouldn't mind checking out CA but it's not a "must do."

The only thing I know about February 8th is that it is CA's birthday. (I only know that because it happens to be my son's birthday too, and the first time we ever went to CA, it was on the park's 1st birthday, so there was a special sticker that was being handed out at the gate...).

Maybe CA is also open later than usual that day due to the anniversary? If so, perhaps that is why DL's hours have been affected?

I don't know, but that's my twins' birthday too We are hoping to be able to go to Disneyland for their birthday this year as a surprise, but it probably won't be ON their birthday
