February 28, 2009 Bushwacker Banditos Magical Cruise

At this point I woud just like to get on the ship. As far as I am concerned it can sail around in circles. If the galley is stocked and the bar at the Cove and Rocken Bar D is stocked the ship does not have to stop.

Hey everyone,

I can't imagine that any of you know this, but in addition to my little career, I have a writing gig on the side. One of the outlets is my blog, and I wrote about Disney and social media.

Feel free to have a read or comment if you'd like.

And it is ONE DEGREE in DC today. One freakin' degree.

Can't wait for some sunshine.

Mark

What is one or two things you are MOST looking forward too?

For me I REALLY excited for the Golden Mickeys. My DD still talks about it 2 years later and I'm hoping its still as exciting for her now as it obviously was then.

Palo Brunch is probably the next thing as it will be something new for us.

What is one or two things you are MOST looking forward too?

First is seeing the ejkj Family again!!! Being internet best friends is okay, but I can't wait to reconnect in person. :grouphug:

Second is probably just sitting at the pool on a sea day, reading my book (or not) and enjoying a cocktail - completely guilt-free since: a) it's vacation, b) the kids are probably having more fun in the clubs than with me, and c) it's 5:00 somewhere. :thumbsup2

And I know Mark is really looking forward to that too since that's what he wrote about in his blog today. (yes, a little wifely plug... :goodvibes )

A few pages ago when we were talking about our "rules" for this trip, we forgot to post the Story motto for the cruise, and all of our other vacations. The kids know it by heart, and remind us of it as well:

It's vacation - go nuts!
:cheer2: :hyper:

Funny you should ask ...we were just talking about this the other day!!!!!
and in the end we decided EVERYTHING!!!!!!!

From the plane trip over, to spending the night at the Raddison and waking up the next morning and having breakfast at McDonalds (yes McDOnalds LOL!!!) DRIVING to the port early (last year we had to wait in the parking lot for about 20 mins as they weren't ready for us...but this was even fun as we had 2 other Dis families there waiting as well:)
Hanging out in the port terminal and then of course walking on board and being announced!!!
LET THE FUN BEGIN:banana:

WE always have lunch in Parrot Cay...check out our room and get ready for the DIs meet...NOW let the DRINKING begin:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

One thing in particular that I am looking forward to is the gentle rocking of the boat when your laying in bed...I Love that!!!!

For us the dinners are always a highlight...we have always had GREAT tablemates and this year will be no exception!!!!

And yes the entertainment is AWESOME!!!!! We esp. enjoy the comedians!!!! Jeff Civilico had us laughing so hard last year.he was so funny!!!!:rotfl2: WE are hoping he will be there again this year:thumbsup2

:grouphug: :grouphug: And we too can NOT wait to see "The Story's" as well!!!! Little Princess Katie princess: is still a celebrity in our house LOL!!!!
And yes Johnna you are and and always will be my IBF "Internet Best Friend":flower3:
Can't Wait!!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

What is one or two things you are MOST looking forward to?/QUOTE]

Number one: Spending a glorious week with my family on a wonderful ship in a warm location. (There is a lot to be said for getting out of northern Alberta in February.) The fact that my brother and two sisters probably would not have been able to afford to take their families on a vacation like this, and that we were able to do this for all of them will make it extra special for us. NOTHING is more important than quality time with the people you love. :goodvibes

Number two: Meeting lots of new friends from this thread in person, and putting faces to the names of those who haven't posted pictures. I have a feeling that our meet will be a hoot.

Number three: Meeting celebrities... no, really... I heard Gloria Gaynor will be on our cruise :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
(and with enough liquid encouragement, I may actually dust off my Elton John alter-ego...)

Mark, congratulations on your "one freaking degree"... at least you have one... we are 2 degrees in the hole at the moment; yes, we actually owe the weatherman 2 degrees. Of course that is better than a couple of weeks ago when we owed him about 37. But since our degrees are the celsius kind, we actually have about 29 of your degrees right now... woot!!!

I think I'll go check out your blog...

Six weeks from today, we will be on the boat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:grouphug:

John

The two things I am looking forward to are one: Doing nothing with a Drink in hand. And Two: having my job pay me to be on the Disney Magic.

Well since itbis like 80 today I am off to the beach and our 5 foot sets today.

Well to add our 2 cents to the weather report... here in Airdrie it is +10 celcius today and is still rising... that would be about 50 degrees F.

Really awesome weather for us here and the snow is melting fast! Winter is by no means over for us... this is just a Chinook, the jet stream brings warm winds that come over the Rocky mountains from the coast. I can guarantee that the weather will be in the minus range again with lots of snow and ice to contend with even long after we come back from our cruise.

Have a super Saturday everyone!!

Well, I officially have the GDH's cold... but I suppose if I was gonna get it, it's better sooner rather than later and right before the cruise.

How oh how would/could Gloria Gaynor be on our cruise? Are you just teasing the gay guys? I mean... she is the high priestess of queer disco...! Or are you teasing us?

Also...how does someone get paid to be on the cruise?

Curious...

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
You are seriously cracking us up!!!!!!!

You obviously missed all of Johnna AKA's......On our previous cruise while hanging out in the Rockin D Bar!!!!! Our very own Johnna was called up on stage to lip sync "Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive"
It was truly a classic as it made it on YOU TUBE!!!!!

And it even gets better...Ron and Mark were called up on the stage to take part in leading the crowd in the YMCA..Ron was dressed as Leather Man and Mark was the Construction Worker:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: This made You Tube as well!!!!
It was a Fun Fun Night!!!!!

So to answer you question, Gloria Gaynor was not actually there, but if she was there, she wouldn't have been able to hold a candle to Johnna's performance!!!! I had tears in my eyes watching all of them up on stage!!!!!

SO maybe of you sweet talk her enough and buy her LOTS of drinks, Gloria may resurface!!!!!!!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I am taking paid vacation time. So in a manner of speeking I am being paid to be on the ship. A fact I love.

What up party people??!

I was just reading everyones post about what they're looking forward to the most and I'm soooo excited to be able to finally experience it myself!!

My family and I were talking about the cruise today and we're super excited!
I'm looking forward to being away from work and being on the most beautiful ship I've ever seen and being in the Caribbean and going to beautiful islands and chillin and relaxing with a NON alcholic drink and then meeting all you lovely people!
OH, and I'm looking forward to that Palo chocolate souffle! I've seen pictures and all I gotta say is I WANT IT!

6 WEEKS!!! That's it!!
WOOO!! :cool1:

Ahhhh.... well that's another matter then... I mean, if you think the Borat suit is cool, just wait til I dig out my Big Gay Disco outfit box? Boys.. do you think the Mama Mia body suits will fit you?

Paid vacation... achso.... everyone here gets that. Nice, eh?

As for things to do.... sitting on the balcony in the morning with a cup of coffee, smelling the sea breeze; becoming the Trivia king on yet another ship, tripping the Evil Queen from Cinderella and watching her fall down 3 levels of stairs, licking cookies and putting them back on the buffet... you know.. fun stuff.:happytv:

Oh good. You can hang out with my kids and everyone will think they're yours since you do the same things.

Note to self... get to cookies on buffet before Dave.

Mark--Read your blog and the article "Disney in 2012". Do you feel better now that your Disney "secret" is out in the open? :goodvibes While I find technology fascinating and like you, enjoy being able to access info so easily in today's world, I never want to give up that person-to-person interaction. With regards to Disney, I would rather interact with a CM than pull up the answer to my question on my Iphone while in the World.....of course, having access to all the info on the web :surfweb: when planning my Disney vacations is AWESOME!!

Alan--I understand about getting paid to go on the Magic. Paid vacations are what I miss most since being self-employed.

What are DH and I looking forward to the most on this cruise? Probably being able to enjoy warm, sunny weather. PLEASE let us have gorgeous weather!!! pixiedust: I am more of a sun worshiper than DH so I plan to spend lots of time by the Quiet Cove pool!!!! :beach:

I'm glad all of you Canadians are enjoying warmer weather. Wanda, you were warmer than us in mid-Missouri yesterday. Our high was only in the 40s!

For those of you looking for a new swimsuit, Target is getting several new ones out.

So, Mark and Johnna, is Washington DC going crazy with the inaugaral on Tuesday?

licking cookies and putting them back on the buffet...

That reminds me of the "little old lady" in the nursing home...when one day the minister came to see her, after their visit he apologized for eating her whole bowl of peanuts....she quickly replied " don't worry that's okay",every since I lost my teeth all I can do is suck the chocolate off!!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

here are some pictures from the Nets game I went to yesterday, Nets lost bad, but had good seats
