Alan,

A question for you... I know that you have mentioned you work for SW. I am not sure in what capacity you work but you just might know the answer! We are flying our return on an United/AC co-share operated by United. They have these "new" baggage fees, and if I look on their chart we will pay $15.00 for the 1st and $25 for the 2nd.

So here is the question, do they have the checkin/gate agents processing credit cards at the time of checkin?? Seems that would be time consuming and delay the whole checkin process for all involved. ( We do not have any kind of flight status with AC either to avoid the fees).Just wondering as I don't think we were charged at time of ticketing.

The sad part is that both of our national carriers up north here (Canada) have gone back to 2 free checked bags max 50 lbs each.

Any words of wisdom you can share?

Hey we just got word that SWA is going to stat a flight from here to Chicago. This will help us hopefully with the air ticket problem we have going on. I will check into it and let you know, unless Al has any inside information for me.

Just curious, what airlines are you flying with for this trip?

I also thought I should mention that we were only in CL from May 2002 until July 2005, and DH spent the entire time in 441. Mostly tool crib and in phase. It will be interesting to see if you know each other!

Carolyn, did you make any flight rezzies yet?? I am going to be watching Westjet and will try to get a flight credit if our flights go on sale. I don't think that will be until Jan or so though.

Hi Wanda! Not sure at this point what our airline will be as we booked airfare with the cruise thru DU. We are hoping Westjet, but we'll see.

I left 441 in July of 2001 and came to the tech school (10FTTS), and have been here ever since.

Johnna, thanks for the update.

Tink, maybe we will get lucky and you will get room 6620. We have 6618 and 6622, but 6620 connects with 6622. We thought we had it made because there was someone on Johnna's list who had 6620, and they were willing to swap with us so we could have both sides of the connecting.... but then they had to change their cruise dates.

Fall is arriving here with a vengeance, so I am looking forward to CC and a mojito or three.

Great news Tink!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you...

And Brenda is pre-occupied with family visiting this week, so I'll tell you for her that they are coming in on Friday night and staying at the Radisson. The girls love the pool there (it is pretty awesome) and Brenda and Ron like the the pool BAR. rotfl: Love you guys! )

Even though we'll be at the Res. Inn, I go by the Radisson in the morning because they have a Starbucks in the lobby. It's my last Starbucks for a week, so I get a fix that has to tide me over. The Cove Cafe coffee is just not the same...

There are always TONS of cruisers staying at the Radisson...the shuttle bus on Saturday morning is PACKED so when you make your reservation for the room, make sure you reserve the 10:00 or 10:30 shuttle at the same time. And expect chaos - it's CONTROLLED chaos, but chaos nonetheless...

I really can't. I do not know how united work at all. All I can tell you is that if it was us, you would pay it when you check your bags.

We have not yet decided on a date to start service. All I can tell you is that as if now it will be in March. We always start service on a Sunday.

we are going to book the 9/18/10 cruise also. I know my dad and I would love to do a Baltic and maybe he will change his mind and just go for it, he wants to go on one more then me, but with cost of it transatlanic looks better and more sea days is a plus

Ok I read through all 44 pages of this thread today! YIKES! I'm all caught up and know this is a bushwacker group that likes food, especially poultry.

Guys do not me over our airline. We are hoping to get our done in October. We are still looking at over 3 gran for ours. I did not check today, but that is what it was on Friday. I am on-line every Wed all day trying to get the hump day deal..... So here is hopes that the Tink family gets a lower fare. We have even thought of driving to Chicago for SWA, but that adds 14 hours (7 each way) to our trip and do not want the kids to have to miss two more days of school.

I'm a fellow Minnie-soatian, we got really lucky with airfare. My mom had been looking at flights for a trip she was taking and just happened to check what our tickets were looking like and they were $300 roundtrip so she called us and we booked. We were on our way out the door somewhere and scrambled to book those tickets as we thought it could be an error. SO glad she randomly found it!

I am wondering though how I can convice my DH to look after our little kiddo while I join everyone in the bushwacker club out there on the deck chairs!! Any advice??

YES me too! We have to book flounders and pay for the daycare which makes Rockin Bar D not as appealing to us. I don't think we have ever stepped foot in there. We are usually seen at the Promenade Lounge where DD can wonder around within out site. This is the first time DD1 will be old enough for the kids club but DD2 still needs Flounders. So come hang at the Promenade with us!

Can I ask when everyone is arriving in Orlando or the port area, and what hotel you are staying in post if you are??

We are arriving on Friday and I think staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. I was suppose to book that today but I was too busy reading the past 44 pages!

My DH told me, they may stick us on deck C (two below the crew right over the broiler) since I am such a "pain in the butt" to DCL. He says they have my reservation flagged as the "Royal Pain in the Butt", The reason I book with DCL direct is so that I can call all the time. Can you believe I am on first name bases with three of the reps??? ~Hey Donna (the DCL Rep, not our bushwacker Donna) how did your grandson's b-day party go???? See, I even know thier plans on their days off.....

We are getting really excited too! Today I went and picked up a birth certificate for my youngest so we can go get a passport for her! I'm making hotel reservations today as well. Then I'll feel we are as ready as we need to be until that 90 day mark when we need pay in full and can start booking Palo and excursions!
