A question for you... I know that you have mentioned you work for SW. I am not sure in what capacity you work but you just might know the answer! We are flying our return on an United/AC co-share operated by United. They have these "new" baggage fees, and if I look on their chart we will pay $15.00 for the 1st and $25 for the 2nd.
So here is the question, do they have the checkin/gate agents processing credit cards at the time of checkin?? Seems that would be time consuming and delay the whole checkin process for all involved. ( We do not have any kind of flight status with AC either to avoid the fees).Just wondering as I don't think we were charged at time of ticketing.
The sad part is that both of our national carriers up north here (Canada) have gone back to 2 free checked bags max 50 lbs each.
Any words of wisdom you can share?
