February 25th Magic Cruise Board

So I can see everyone is starting "cruise mode"!! :woohoo:

Does anyone have any pictures of FE stuff or shirts or magnets they want to share? We would love to see them.

Emmy had to try on 100's of clothes last weekend (only 20-30 but she is nine so she thinks we are evil), but luckily she had a lot that fit!

How about everyone else? What are you working on?

emmysdidi

The kids are going to a Tinkerbell/Jake & the Neverland Pirates party next week, so methinks I have an excuse to go to the mall & get a few dress up things that can be used on the cruise :) The kids have new Mickey Crocs & pajamas, and I'm working up the nerve to order a Silhouette to start making new Disney shirts... trying to resist the urge to buy anything else new - would rather start stashing away those $$$ for the NEXT trip!

Still trying to convince the husband to run the Castaway Cay 5K with me. We're trying to get into a more healthy lifestyle and he's been running at home, so maaaaaaybe he'll change his mind :)

Are we still planning a meet/greet? We decided to just drive over the morning of, but would love to meet once on board!

It looks like you have a son who is 11. Since this is Sydney's Make a Wish he is feeling alittle ignored so thought maybe we could schedule a time for the boys to meet up??
Denise

Im thinking of doing the 5K BUT I dont run..I just do them to be accountable for some exercise. It takes me @40minutes to do 3.2miles and Ive read where most everyone runs and if you walk you may get lost??? So just asking if anyone is close to a 14min mile..haha dont laugh runners atleast Im moving right?
Also, Im hoping to walk the cruise deck each morning..anyone else?

Alex is 11. I showed him the list of Fish Extender participants, and he is excited that there are others his age on-board. We can certainly find a way to introduce them to each other.

Speaking of Make a Wish, our family is going to Orlando a couple of days early, and we will spend a day volunteering at "Give Kids the World", the resort the Make a Wish maintains in Kissimee to cater to the families of the many kids who ask for Disney World as their wish. As you mentioned, it is a challenge for the resort to make sure that the siblings of the wisher feel special, too, so most of the volunteers actually spend their time with them. We have never been there, but have heard great things about the experience. Our assignment is to work in the cafeterias, part of the day with the families and part with the other volunteers. We're really looking forward to it as a great way to start off our vacation.

We don't generally like organized tours and are planning on doing our own excursions at St. Maarten and St.Thomas. Just curious as to what others are planning to do -- organized tours (and which ones?) OR strike out on their own?

For St. Thomas, we are thinking of going to Trunk Bay in St. John. But not sure what to do in St. Maarten. Ideas? We're not into shopping and would like a nice beach for some sand/water fun with kids. Snorkeling would be ideal.

Hi Everyone! Thanks for making me feel so welcome!

For the magnet, we will be in room #8076. Thanks again!

We are from Cleveland, for those of you asking (definitely looking forward to getting out of this weather!!). We will fly in on the 24th. Can't wait!

I'm still trying to figure out everything about the FE -- do we need multiple pockets? As for the little gifts -- do we give little things to everyone on the list? Different things for adults than kids? I'd love a little guidance -- I want to make sure we do things right. :)

I would post pics of last year's stuff just as a preview, but I don't know how! Sorry. I can tell you that the magnet looks just like the graphic you created. :lmao:

I have been procrastinating having Lilia (DD5) try on her cruise clothes that I bought ahead at the end of last season, because I am terrified that they won't fit. That child grew a quarter of an inch in SIXTEEN DAYS last fall. I see a lot of shopping in my immediate future...

You can partner up with someone who is at your speed, but you will not get lost if you walk! A group of us from our Dis meet thread did the CC 5k together last year and had so much fun. We laughed and joked and stopped to take lots of pics, and we came in dead last. But we didn't get lost and we did get some exercise and a slow jog, fast walk pace.

I am more of an elliptical or spin class person, but I refuse to fight a gym crowd on my vacation. I'm sure I'll be up for a deck walk on at least a couple of days, especially if the gym is packed.

Hi everyone! My name is Andrea and this is my first time on the boards. My DH, and 2 DS, and extended family will be sailing with all of you in just under a month. I am interested in participating in the fish extender giving, but I'm really new to it. Can someone add us to the list or help me find my way? Thanks so much!

Could someone please explain the logic behind spellcheckmon Apple devices? Seriously. Why does autocorrect always change "ill" to "I'll" but will allow a completely nonsensical word (schedulemwas, autocorrectmalways, spellcheckmon - are we Jamaican now?) to go through without so much as a warning?

Before I switched to Apple, I thought my iFriends were just being lazy and blaming it on their devices. Now I see the error of my ways. And I hate you, "m" key above the spacebar. I truly do.

That is hilarious, I cant even type on Mikes Iphone.....I dont even try anymore....ICAN NEVER HIT A CORRECT KEY....

And i cant even blame it on the treadmill

This is totally awesome and if i had known you could do this i would have went and done already and it is now on my bucket list!

I am just trying to get my clothing schedule in order.
And gave up on my shirts.

We have our bording shirts which say........."HONEY MOON MAGIC"

And we decided not to wear printed tshirts for our wedding day, since we are having dinner in the castle, we wanted to be a little more "nicer"

I am still debating on the 5k cc

the Kim i knew was from the cleveland area too.

You can do it how ever you like.....normally i have not given to the adults. BUT some people do.
Some times people give a gift for the family like a CD of island music.

I once made magnets to correspong with every day of the cruise....
(i know, it was Karazy) but i did like a formal night one and a pirate etc

i know its not the greatest of comparisons....

BUT

Last summer we volunteered with Save the Whales and went 2 weekend in a row to help with some stranded pilot whales in the keys.

It was INCREDIBLE!!!

Thanks for helping me get back to my ocean home! Oh wait, that was just the nightmare I had of myself in a navy blue bathing suit. Sorry. Carry on.

oh HA!!!:lmao:

maybe you should have chosen something like.............
yellow polka dots instead

We had the boys trying on shorts, crocs, hats etc this past wknd as well. It took most the day as it involved a lot of chasing and hide and seek as well:rolleyes:. Although DS3 was thrilled when he found out a new bathing suit was in order, I wasn't so thrilled whentrying to find one this time of year in eastern Canada and then the price of the one I found:scared1:
