February 2020 Flights

We are planning a trip the last week of February in to the first week of March 2020. Airlines are starting to release their flights but you are looking at over 1000.00 roundtrip. When should I expect to see these flight costs go down? Thanks!

They will usually come down 30-45 days after release. It can vari. I started looking at my November tickets in January soon after they were released. On February 14th, they dropped to a price that I thought was very good. They haven't been that low since.

You'll see a drop about a month after BUT then after that sale period it will spike again until about 2 months prior to departure. ( My experience in the Chicago market )

I bought mine yesterday for late Jan/early Feb. It was the cheapest I've seen out of our local airport but I think its because I snagged Delta's Basic Economy which usually sells out. This is the earliest I've ever purchased but it was the same as we paid driving two hours to the bigger airport this past December for a flight without layover.

we always book on the day they release due to our airport is int he middle of nowhere and the prices always just go up from there
