FEBRUARY 2008 WDW travelers post HERE!!!

Found this on the All Ears weekly newsletter:

from Leigh Moos: Just wanted to let you know that I just hung up from WDW dining reservations, and they told me that the Pirate and Princess Party is going to take place on selected dates from January 21 through March 14 (January 21, 26, 29; February 2, 5, 9, 14, 22, 26, March 1, 6, 11, 14). They also mentioned that if DVC members book by December
15 there will be a discount available. After that, the prices go to $45.95 for adults and $37.95 for children. Booking starts on October 31.

Maybe we will see something tomorrow!

Thanks for posting that Melanie............. let's hope it's true!!! If not tomorrow, then maybe Thursday!!! I'm thinking a lot of good things are going to happen on Thursday!!!! :wizard:

I'm getting the same ERROR message--has anyone found out about that??

Also--are the P&P tickets refundable? How early in advance would be necessary for 2/2??

No, I don't believe they are refundable. (I have heard others have success with getting "comped" after a bad rain at one of the parties though.) I have no idea if these will sell out at all, but from reading other threads, the 2/2 date seems to be the most popular date on the DIS boards. :confused3

AP rates available thru 2/13!!!

 I got my waterview room at POFQ for $50 less per night!

P & P Party tickets ARE NOW for sale

I just ordered mine for 2/2

Whoo Hoo!!!!! pirate: princess:

2 adult, 1 child = total $107.22 So they are actually cheaper this year, and instead of just picking them up at the resort, she said they would be mailing them and I should get them in a few days!!!

Oh...................

Ok..I have read up on Pirate and Princess Party...is it really worth it? What is so special about it? I have a DS 4 and DD 7..would they enjoy it?pirate:

:sad2: I've tried to get the Visa and/or the AP discounts today for the BCV, BWV, or the WLV and was told there are none avail for my dates (1st week in Feb) I'm so disappointed! Any advice??? I did already have my ressie for the BCV and just wanted the code applied but was told no discounted rooms avail! Has anyone gotten discounts for those Villas for those dates?

Do you think the 2/5 (Tues) party would be less crowded than the 2/2 (Saturday) party?

I'm wondering the same thing. Thinking about changing a few things around with dining to go to the 2/5. Decisions, Decisions.

I was able to use the VISA code for our stay 2/15 - 2/18...so call the very minute you find out there is a new code for the general public. :thumbsup2

Thank you so much for giving me some hope! Will be checking first thing tomorrow morning to see if there are discounts for the general public!

Keep in mind that Feb 5 is the evening of Mardis Gras....I know that there will be a LOT of people coming to WDW that week from Louisana (and around there) to celebrate Mardis Gras and the winter break. Now...I've never been to a Mardis Gras celebration in New Orleans....only wished, :thumbsup2 ....but I do believe it would NOT be an understatement to say that them are some people who knowwwww how to part-tay.

Of course being the middle the week it would probably not have many locals attending, as they'd have to get up early the next morning and go to work (poor slobs, :confused3 ).

From what I've heard about the P&P parties in the back there really is no such thing as "crowded". I don't think I've ever read a trip report or P&P report or comment where someone went to a past P&P and complained about the crowds. Most comments were about riding the most popular rides over and over, sometimes without having to get off. The "crowds" I've heard about had more to do with the length of the line to "meet and greet" with Captain Jack Sparrow. And even those were often negligible later in the evening and early was less than an hour.

I switched from the 2nd to the 9th because I had originally thought most of those Mardis Gras party-folks would just be arriving on 2/2 and therefore not be going to a late night party that first night....but the thread where everyone posted their hopes for dates seemed to show 2/2 was going to be very popular.....and I figured since 2/9 was our last weekend of our month long trip, it would be a great thing to end our trip on.

I'd say pick a date when your family will be most rested.....these are late nights, lots of excitement and stimulation for little ones....so the more rested they are, the more fun they're likely to have. If you're just arriving from a different time zone the day or two before a party...pick a different date......if you have ADRs for some thrilling character breakfast on the morning of or the morning after a party....pick a different party date (or reschedule the ADR) so that they don't have excitement for toooo many hours.

If you have energizer bunny children, like I do....that can go all day and all night if the fun is worth it....then think about your own schedule. As someone used to being in bed at 9pm (but up at 4am for some me time) everyday at home....I know that I need to sleep in or take a nap the day of the party in order to be able to keep up with them at midnight. :dance3: :rotfl2:

just made ressies for our february trip using the discount code.
saved us about $300 on package at pop century!
yay!!!
SO EXCITED!!!

I am disappointed that they were unable to apply the discount (free hoppers and waterparks) to my resort/room type. We have WL woods view w/bunks. Has anyone ever heard of this? I know it worked last year. I'm bummed! I was kind of depending on this discount! My kids would be so disappointed if I got a standard room without the bunks--I just can't switch!

I am very excited!!! I just used the public discount this morning and saved $250 at ASMu Feb 9-15th :cool1: I really wanted to do DisneyQuest, and now I can!

Maybe try logging in on the disney site and making reservations that way. I did this immediately after I applied for the disney visa online and got a better rate than previously quoted for WLV. I couldn't get a rate at all for AKV, where we are staying, so I called and a CM told me that the rate wouldn't work for AKV.

hth

I don't have time to dig through the thread, where are these codes posted? :rolleyes1 ;)
