FEBRUARY 2008 WDW travelers post HERE!!!

I just saw the hours getting up............. Epcot wasn't up yet........ I see now it is............. YEAH!!!!

I didn't see this posted on the attract./strateg. board so I posted it............

NOW we can plan our touring days and ADR's!!!!

Also, did anyone else notice that the 2nd is a 7PM day at MK.......... it is also a magical week of disney day.......... so, I'm guessing that this will be the P&P Party day!!!!! It's our arrival day --- I'm only guessing as this being the day.......... but, it appears as though it's a very GOOD possibility!!!!

:cool1: Maybe it will be a P&P party!!! That's our arrival day also. It would be a stretch to try to make it but I would definitely try! We plan to leave at 1:00am Friday night (2-1) so we should get to the hotel around check in time. A quick nap (if we can sleep with all the excitement of arriving) and we could try to do it.

Also - someone had a question of how to tell if the EMH is morning or evening. If you are on the calendar page, click on the Extra Magic Hour on that date and it will bring you to a page that has ALL the Extra Magic Hours listed by month, by park, by morning or evening. Earlier February wasn't listed but I'm about to go check again.

Hooray, the hours are all up. Some look like they need fine tuning, but we can start planning :thumbsup2

Just changed my room only reservation to a Magic Your Way plus dining package for Feb 1-7!!!!! :cool1: Now just maybe a code will come out and I can get a discount. :thumbsup2 While I was changing my ressie, the CM even offered to book my ADR's for me!!!! All done! This is sooooo exciting:banana: Anyone else got busy (uh making ressies ;) ) this morning?

Anyone else got busy (uh making ressies ;) ) this morning?

Yes, I "got busy!" That sounds wrong! Made our AAA room-only ressie for Feb 7-10 at POP when my daughter will be playing in Disney's Field Hockey Showcase.

I booked the AAA rate now in case I don't get a pin or a good rate with a code when/if they come out. The AAA rate was $65/night for standard.

Will they let you have a package discount and an AP discount together on the same ressie?

Can someone tell me what the other-than AAA codes usually consist of? Are they better than the 20% AAA?

Thanks,
Beth :wizard:

We are all booked with a MYW Package at AKL from Feb. 2-9th, Pool with Bunk Bed view, 8 day hoppers and the dining plan........... whew!!!

Also, my 180 window was not till tomorrow, but he let me go ahead and make all my ADR's today!!!!!! I got EVERYTHING I wanted at the exact times we wanted!!!!

ALSO - while he couldn't confirm that the 2nd would be a P&P Party - he DID say that "considering" that it IS a Magical week of Disney Day and that the park closes early that day - he'd have to "agree" with MY thinking that it probably will be!!!! He said in fact - " I think your ADR that day is at a very good time"!!! ( It's for 5:30 at LTT) just in case there IS a party that day - I'm prepared!!!! ;)

OK - so now what do I do.................... :rolleyes1

I kept a file on rates I pulled up last year for February. I thought someone might want to see a comparison on how prices have increased. Considering there is no 2008 discount yet, the deals could end up close...

OK, my 180 day window is today. I called this morning and got ressies at Crystal Palace for breakfast, party of sixteen at 8:05. Now I need to decide where else we will all be eating.

Did you have trouble getting through? I got through one time, but got put on hold before the survey part of the call and no one ever came through. I tried again, but got the "all circuits are busy" routine - several times. Calling from both my home phone and my cell. Argh. Finally got through at 8:00 and got my CRT reservation for 8:30 (was hoping for 8).

Does anyone know if I have to do anything to my reservation right now? I made the reservation a while ago based on 2007 rates. Do I have to do anything now that 2008 rates are out? I thought I would just wait and see about a code for a package, but now I'm wondering if I need to make my reservation "official"?

Just being paranoid. :)

WOW, I was quoted, last year, a LOT more!
These are great rates! I was quoted a discounted rate of $3200 for 9 nights and DDP, PH passes. 2 s, 2 kids.

Here is our knock down on prices-
$462-1 AP
$600.46- 3, 5 day PH passes
$667-POP, 9 nights
$370 -20% off w/ DDE=$296 on ADR's (and I added my DN5, just in case, so that may be about $30 less)
DDE-$60(getting in December since that starts when you get it)

$2084 (already out of pocket=$1500!)

add $700 for other meals (including grocery, what we bring from home or order from Garden grocer)

so= $2784. About close to what you have. I do not fancy the DDP. I will have to go to WDW on a free DDP if offered next year to get on that roller coaster. I don't like that it no longer includes tip!! I wasn't crazy over it before that. I like the flexibility of bringing our own food. Not having to make too many ADR's makes me HAPPY!;)

Does anyone know what's going on the week before President's week? I just checked online for park hours that week and noticed that most of the parks are extending their hours for that week by 1 or 2 hours, then they get much longer for President's week, and then, back down, even lower, than the week of 2/4 and 2/11. I just thought maybe something was going on that I need to be aware of!
Makin' my ADR's in 4 days- keepin' those fingers crossed, espcially to get CRT!:woohoo:

You don't have to do anything. They will adjust the rates for you. I am also waiting to see if a code comes out. Crossing our fingers won't hurt. :teeth:

My take on this week has always been that it's the last week before rates go from value to peak, so alot of folks try to get in a trip before the rate changes. We were there the first week of Feb last year and there has a huge home builders convention going on. There were participants at most of the resorts and shuttle buses coming and going taking the folks to the convention center. We were at the WLV and there were alot of convention folks there too. I think this year the convention is during Prez weekend this year.

I have some questions if someone knows.

Which week will be less crowded - the last week of January or the first week of February?

How important is it to follow a crowd calendar for February? Will it be useful to avoid certain parks on certain days? What about EMHs?

Also, where is there a listing of parade and show times for February? ETA: I found parades/night show times on Disney's calendar. Can you find out about other shows before you are actually at the park and get a time's guide (like HSM Pep Rally or say Beauty and the Beast).

Thanks!

If you go to www.disneyworld.com and click on the word calendar close to the top, it will bring you to the calendar page. From there, choose your park and month. On your calendar, click on the date (ex. 3). The daily schedule for that date comes up.

Sorry, didn't catch that last part of your message - kids keep distracting me. I'd like to know if you can find out the times for the others shows too. :-)
