I just booked this cruise! We were supposed to be doing the EB Trans, but as you may have noticed...the economy here in the D (Detroit) is not so great. Besides, the more I think about it, I don't want DD8 to miss 2+ weeks of school. This one will be during winter break here.

This will be our 4th DCL......so far only 3 and 4 nighters, so really looking forward to the longer time. (that was the draw of the Trans.)

All of our previous cruises have been last minute, so we haven't done the meet of FE's or anything.....but would LOVE to this time.

Welcome aboard JewelMickey! My DD will also be 8 on the cruise, I'm sure they will meet in the kids club at some point

As far as needing passports, technically all you need is a certified copy of your birth certificate along with a valid government ID, but god forbid you need to come back to the US immediately from another port of call, you would not be allowed to do that without a passport. We are all going to have passports with us just to be safe.

I'm from the Detroit area as well!! Being that it was winter break also made the decision to pull the kids outta school a bit eaiser LOL.

Right now we have an inside cabin deck 7 aft.....at least close to the secret aft deck. Have always had a veranda, but with $$ tight it's either an inside or not go.....We all voted to go (of course.)
We cruised 2 Febs ago during Pres week.....it was pretty packed. I think this meet thread will really get busy as the cruise comes closer. I would do the FE's but never did before....other thing we may like to consider....

Linda- Thanks for the info about the store, we'll have to head back there this summer. Please post it when the new store in open. We actually added our points on at the event at the Garden City Hotel last summer. How is it working for Disney?

I really enjoy working there. It's fun to be able to make magic for other people, Disney music playing in the background, helping people to plan their trips to WDW. I started in 2002 and left at the end of 2004 to take care of DGD, who was born in Jan. 2005. When she was 3-1/2, I went back and intend to stay on now indefinitely. All the older people there, like me, are Disney geeks too, and I've actually made some good friends there. We have a lot in common, and have traveled together too, Disney of course. The perks at WDW help out a lot too, since we go a lot.

Welcome new cruisers!!!!! Hello again fellow Pres. of the Caribbean!! Even though I have a few trips coming up to other places this year --I find myself still so excited about this cruise next year!!!! Plus my DH- who doesn't seem to believe all the hype about Disney Cruises- has been hearing from friends and Co-workers, how great it is etc- so I think he is finally getting excited! Again- this is our first cruise EVER- so we are nervous and excited!! We def. want to do FE- just kids is fine w/ me too...as i have stated on previous posts- I have even picked up a few things already here and there that are cute for FEs. Would love to do all the other fun stuff too so count us in!

Jewel....I wasn't thrilled to hear how pack past President's Day cruises were. Was it really bad to navigate around??? Ugh.

I think the FE director just has to keep track of participant and cabin number.....also decide if it will be kids only or adults too.

Tshirts..........design a logo photoshop
Bracelets are the rubber ones (with a title and date)......can order online about $2 each.
FE's fish extenders.....small token gifts (kinda like secret santa)
Meets.....get together of DISers at beginning of cruise
Tour.....volunteer from each cabin cat. to visit and see what they look like.
