Feb or Oct

I'm wanting to book again for 2010 and I'm debating between Feb and Oct. We were just there beginning of May and were told by several people that they visited in Feb and just walked on to most of the rides and the parks were a lot less crowded. The crowds and heat bothered my DH (not so much myself or the kids). I'd still like it to be warm enough to swim, however. Any suggestions?

I would try to finagle the dates to accomplish a Disney trifecta: Free dining, Food & Wine and MNSSHP. So that means Oct...also very important to get some swimming in!

We went during the last week of Jan/first week of Feb this year. We are from Illinois and had every kind of weather from 80F and able to swim to winter coats in the morning. This was our 3rd trip in Jan or early Feb. We LOVE this time of year because the crowds are low and the temps are low. We can stay in the parks every day from opening until we're ready to leave without worrying about crowds or overheating. We've stayed ~8 days each trip and have had ~3 days each trip warm enough for the kids to swim. (Which for my kids is above 70F.)

If your family values swimming on the same level as going to parks, go in October. If a few days where they get to swim is acceptable, definitely go in early February. Your husband will LOVE the weather!

The weather in February can be iffy. It could be warm or it could be cold. We've been there and had both. If you really need swimming weather I would go in October. The crowds in October are similar to the first couple of weeks of May.
