We are planning a trip to DL and wanting to know of a good time to go and when the crowds will be low. first or second week of Feb or March? I know this might be dipping into spring break if we decide to go in March. I just wasn't really sure and I was thinking that spring break was more at the end of March instead of the begining. I'm also thinking about weather and ride refurbs. I would like to hear from others who have gone during both of these times before. Your help would very much be appreciated! Thank you!:goodvibes

Just wanted to mention that the Rivers of America (where the steamship goes) will be drained from Jan-May, according to those in the know. As far as the timing, I went in Feb. last year (right before Valentine's Day) and it was wonderful, though we did get one day of very light rain. That's just something you might encounter in either month, I think. I've been rained on in Oct, Nov, Jan and Feb but I've not been in March and I don't know how it compares.

A quick note that some folks get confused when you say "DL" because DL is a park at DLR (Disneyland Resort) and we are not sure if you mean you are going only to the DL park or to the whole resort - DLR. See "Disneyland Resort Lingo for Newbies" - www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2214012 :goodvibes

Not sure if you have been to DLR before but if not be careful trying too hard to miss crowds as you may miss other things you do not want to miss. For example, as Diz said Fantasmic will be down during your visit.

See "What You Should Know About Off-Season at DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=18462889

Here is historical weather info:

"Detailed Weather History for DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=23004158

Historical ride refurbs can be found in the links in this thread:

HTH :)

Early February is best, or even late February. Just avoid Presidents Day weekend. We had a fantastic time there in February. No lines at all. March is ok, but you will get spring break people. Spring break is different everywhere, but generally falls march to mid April. I have sometimes done an online search of the school districts on California and Arizona to find out when their breaks are. March also has a lot of Cheerleading/Dance/Band competitions and you DEFINITELY want to avoid those!
