Feb No Buy! Short Month! We can do this!

Bought sugar glider food ($15)

Sugar glider food?! I had to google this. You have a sugar glider as a pet? The pictures are SO ADORABLE!!!!

Now I have chinchilla, hedgehog, and sugar glider on my "List of Adorable Pets I Would Like to Have But Probably Never Will!" :lmao:

I'm in, with my own twist. Recording groceries but not couting them towards no buy days, but also raising my no buy days to 18. Hoping to get a real feel for the difference from this month last year, since January was a bust.

February 1-$0 :yay: I am doing better but still not eating more then a few bites so no stregnth to go anywhere. I am going to attempt to cook dinner for the first time in over 2 weeks, but just an easy crock pot dinner. It's something.
February 2-$0 :yay: Kids had the day off. We didn't get as much snow as they called for, but they had alreayd called school. They have never done that, caled it too early, and I am sure they won't soon again.
February 3-$0 :yay: Was really hoping to be better by today and able to grocery shop. That was not the case. Maybe tomorrow.

No Buy Days 3/18 Number of no buys is up cause I am no longer counting groceries towards no buy, my new for 2011 rule for myself.

February 4-$0 :yay: A little bummed. We had tickets (free!) to see the Globetrotters tonight. I was really hoping to be able to go, especially since we missed Disney on Ice. I am still not eating, so very weak. I feel a lot better but just too weak to go. So the family is out to dinner and the show and I am at home in bed. A little sad, but really happy they are getting to go.

A. Mickey, how do you determine how much you save from coupons and sales? I think I'm pretty good with coupons and very good with pinching pennies, but I don't get totals that are anywhere near as good as yours. Some months your savings are over $1000. You are over $100 in just three days.

Are you a coupon genius with secrets to share?

Feb 1: $15 at Walgreens
Feb 2: $0
Feb 3: $15 on gas and parking in Seattle (had to pick up some papers for work, crazy I spent nearly five bucks to run in/out in less than half an hour!!!)

Finally got out of the house today. It took us an hour to unbury my car and get it out of the driveway. We went to Walmart and spent a total of $62.52, $49.82 on grocery and household and $12.74 Misc (two pairs of pants for my mom on clearance and a new wallet for me)

Tomorrow I am going out to lunch with my BFF but it should be cheap as we do chinese.

Wow, Debbie. I am glad your DD is safe. You must have been so scared.
Thanks! Her area isn't too close to the Square, but there were neighbourhood watch guys (and when I talked to her I could hear some gunfire). She is SOOOOO sad. All she wants is for this to be over, so she can go back to her kiddies (and her kitty). THAT is when I will be really nervous!

February 2-$0 :yay: Kids had the day off. We didn't get as much snow as they called for, but they had alreayd called school. They have never done that, caled it too early, and I am sure they won't soon again.
Same here! We had the day off, and people were grumbling. I, personally, was glad, because we'd had sleet all night, so the roads were not the best, and not having to go in to school was definitely appreciated.

Here's the update!

Feb. 1: Groceries $30, summer conference for me....$295 (luckily, I've saved for this and it is not really a part of the budget ;) )
Feb. 2: $0 Snow day!
Feb. 3: $20 at DD's Talent night. $10 for my admission, and $10 for draws. I won a really nice Lavender hand cream/soap/shower gel set from Crabtree and Evelyn. :goodvibes
Feb. 4: gas $45, 2 pair special "loop" scissors for school $7, and a renewal for Scholars Choice which nets me 10% discount, $10 in free goods, AND a huge mug/warmer + notepads $10 (seems like a deal to me :rotfl: ) Hmmmm. So far, I can't put the finger on DH for spending (but tomorrow is another day....one of his 'shopping days!"

No Buy days this month: 1/10

The same thing happens every time I do a no-buy for a few months in a row. I'm out of everything! Really, I have a whole shelf empty in my freezer, and the fridge is equally bare. The cats are out of food... Oh well. Time to stock up on the necessities.

I'm going to try to commit more to coupons, especially at Wegmans b/c they double up to .99. Did good at Genuardis--save 62% and got a lot of stuff, including five lbs of meat and 5 lbs of clementines.

2/14 no-buys
* Used coupon

2/1-$0
2/2-$35 Wegmans*
2/3-$0; 1.5 miles
2/4-$5.75 Target* (shorts, chips, and sponges), $4.50 Michaels*, $4.25 PetSmart*, $22.50 Genuardis*, $18 Chinese Food, $1 Library (for used Alladin and Beauty & the Beast CDs), 2 miles
