Feb 2020 Crowd Calendar - Half Marathon

I'm planning our trip for Feb 2020 and according to touringplans.com, on Sun Feb 23 Magic Kingdom appears to have a lower crowd level than any other park so I'm inclined to spend the day in that park. But I notice that Disney Princess half marathon is happening that day. Does anyone know if the runners run through Magic Kingdom?

That course does go through the MK. I was there as a park guest when it finished up in MK in 2018 and as a runner in 2019.

The last runners will be entering the MK and heading down Main Street approx 8:30am. You do get some race and park guest overlap in that 7:45am-8:30am'ish time when Main Street is open before the park opens at 9am. But once the runners come through and they pick up the cones, it's like nothing ever happened and everything magically goes back to normal.

BUT - and this is important - the course blocks traditional vehicle and bus routes to the MK that morning. Buses are diverted to drop off at the TTC, not the MK bus depot. You will find traffic backups and detours throughout WDW. This all clears up rather quickly as well, but if you are planning pre-park opening activities or trying to be there for rope drop, you need to build in plenty of extra time and patience. If your plans don't involve MK rope drop, it will likely be a non-issue.

This also starts Mardi Gras week & I think is the end of president’s week. It will absolutely be crowded the whole week everywhere.
