Feb 2009 code watch

Hi! I'm new, so first of all, thanks for this great forum, and all the info in here :)

Me and my DBF are visiting WDW for the first time next February (6 thru 12); we're on a budget, but we decided to go anyway because we've been told it's an amazing experience! A code would be great for us...

My question is: Can non-US residents use the codes? (We're from Argentina) I was looking at the official website, in the reservations site, but I couldn't find a field to enter any promotional codes... Do I have to make my reservation first, and then call and apply the code?

Sorry for being an annoying newbie with all these questions

You can't use a code online. You have to call. You can make a reservation and call and apply the code when it comes out. I have no idea if a non-US person can use the code. I would think so but have no idea!

Yep. Anyone can use the codes. Sometimes there are different variations of the code... but it'll have the same outcome. For instance, last year I called to apply the code and that one didn't apply for me but they had another one that they gave to me that could work 'cause I am Canadian, it offered the same thing. It was off by one letter, the nice CM looked it up for me.

I'm wondering what the discount will be. I'm hoping for 30 to 40% off. If it does include the park hopper free upgrade that would be gravy!

If it's at least 30% off I'm booking a garden wing room at the Contemporary Resort!

I'm slightly confuse about the codes.......here's my scenario.

I've booked my hotel plus magic your way tickets with park hoppers and ddp. If a code comes out will I have to re-book everything?

No they just add the code to your res and you won't owe as much once you arrive.

Woo Hoo....so maybe anytime now :) Hope whatever is a goodie because the week in Feb I can go is HIGH season....not sure why that is, but it is :(

Is it around President's week? That's always a busy time. My family and I will be there beginning 2/10 and leaving on President's Day (2/16). We will not actually be in the parks either the Sunday before or on President's Day. We might do Epcot on Saturday, 2/14, but we will have to wait and see what that weekend brings. . .

Actually, they might, they might not. Sometimes they can change your exisiting ressie, and sometimes, especially if your type of room is not available, or you have to change resorts, they might have to rebook.

It depends on all the factors.

You won't lose out though, you're covered either way. :wizard:

I thought they just credited your card:confused3

As far as 'type of room' do the typical Feb codes apply to preferred and regular rooms usually?
Does anyone think a preferred room at POP would require rebooking, compared to previous codes from previous years?
One more question... I have read that there has been a room discount as well as ticket upgrade... what has the room discount been?

sorry for all the questions right off in the morning lol

For our February 06 and 07 trips we had no problem with a preferred room with the code, but for our Feb 08 trip there were no preferreds available with the code, we had to switch to a standard room in order to get the code

What if the discount offered does not cover your entire stay? For example, if the discount runs through 2/4, but your trip is through 2/6. What happens then? Will they cover part of your reservation, or does they disqualify you?

I believe the disc we got w/free park hoppers in Feb 2008 was 10% off room.
If you are staying longer than the disc covers, then you will get disc prices for the dates w/in the offer & then pay full rate for the rest of the days after.
The 2nd half of Feb is considered peak season b/c of Pres Day & the start of Spring Break.

Not willing to give up my dream yet even though both mine and hubbys hours are cut. I am hoping for a good job and a code!
I told my DH that if we let the house actually go into forclosure than we could afford to go to Disney with no problem. :rotfl:
O.K. so I wasn't totally serious but thinking about DisneyWorld is my addiction! Watching the thread for happy codes!

It's AFTER President's Week. We arrive on 2/21 and leave the 2/28?
