FEB 20, 2010 Western MAGIC Cruise

Yahoo! Got my flight changed so now I connect in Miami instead of Dallas. Yep, they had me routed BOS to DFW to Orlando! :scratchin :faint:

It means I will land three and a half hours sooner; at around 5:30. This will give me plenty of time to repack for what I'll carry onto the ship (which is different from what I'd carry onto the plane...)

Can't wait to meet everyone! :jumping2: :welcome: :jumping2:

Congratulations! I can't imagine having to fly all the way to Dallas to get to Florida!

I just checked in for my flight tomorrow, and I decided to get Jim a birthday gift while I was doing it. We don't exchange gifts for events, but save that money and do fun things like take cruises! However, when I was checking in, and option came up to upgrade to First Class! By the time I calculated the luggage fees and what it would cost us to have a nice lunch once we get to Florida, I figured the total additional cost to me to be $20. So we'll be flying comfortably for a change! And lunch and baggage fees are included. I don't think I'll tell him until it's actually time to board the plane. Now I can start my fun a bit earlier with a nice glass of wine (or two or three!) while we're on our way.

See you all on Saturday! I'll have my camera so that we can take pictures at the meet. If anyone wants copies while we're on board, and you have a camera that takes an SD card, I'll be glad to do that for you!

Hello everyone we are off to the airport. Hope I have everything:eek: We hope you all have a safe journey to Florida. See ya at Port/Dis meet Saturday:woohoo:

I swear the clock is running slow....been sitting on this computer for what seems like hours waiting for that time...23hrs and 59mins before flight to start hitting the southwest site for boarding passes.....

Got a report via my pastor at church that his friend is reporting temps in the 60's in the Bahamas. International weather is showing upper 70's and lower 80's for Cozumel and Grand Cayman with a slight chance of rain each day.

Off to Walmart for some cheap ponco's .... just in case

See you all soon.

Got my bags packed and everything made it but the scrabble game... Did better than I thought I would!!! Where's the imoticon with a glass of wine when you need one???

Kathy Q:rotfl:

FINALLY ALL PACKED!! :headache:Talk about procrastination,:sad2: plus had to run out to Tar-Jay for some capris for my oldest...three kids and I are packed, and each bag is close to 45 lbs!! Anyone renting out closet space?? CAN'T WAIT!! Catching up on Survivor then hitting the hay... ALMOST HERE!!

Since I'm traveling solo I might be talked into renting out some closet space. Of course that's after the FE stuff has all been delivered!!! LOL

Finally in Orlando! They destroyed my bag en route but wonder of wonders took pity on me and replaced it with a new one on the spot, with almost exactly what I'd had (same model, different color). :thumbsup2

Had to repack my bag and leave the damaged one behind, but it was better than dragging around something that didn't work anymore! :sad2:

I'm checked into my hotel, have had dinner and will be at the ship by around 12:30 and will be there at 3 for the DISmeet!

Very excited!

Made it to Orlando last night.

In the hotel this morning.

Both the wife and I feel this may be the start of a new vacation style, as we have typically done the "fly to someplace warm and stay in a hotel" vacations in the past.

Can't bring myself to use the emoticons, as I am a guy with some pride.

The dancing banana summarizes my mood though.

This was the best cruise ever! The FE was so cool, the kids were checking it every time we went past the room. :rotfl2: Thank you everyone for everything!:thumbsup2 Can't wait to book our next one! :dance3:

:wave2: :boat:
Who had the best time? party:
I did!!!
And we had power when we got home. Life is good!:cool1:

It was an awesome cruise:goodvibes . DS8 starting sobbing at the "Till We Meet Again" show and did not stop until Saturday afternoon:sad1: . It was such fun!! I'm going to do a TR, but have to wait a few days to get things in gear around here. Real life???? Who needs it?

They should warn us that we'll need a vacation from the vacation....after a couple of disappointed weather days, we lived it up on Castaway Cay....

REDEMPTION....

Hope everyone makes it back safe.

Our kids had a great time and are still talking about the friends they made.

Now to the laundry !!!

And in case you'll didn't make it the the parking lot of the Hog's Breath

DISboard Friends,

It was wonderful to meet all of you and get to know many of you! I can't wait for the next cruise! Disney Rocks and so do all of you!!!

Hugs,

Kathy Q :cheer2:

Alright!!! We did it!! I didn't puke once!!! Rough seas and vibrating bed like a cheap hotel room, I sooooooo miss my room attendant and dining servers!! Woke up this a.m. starving and going thru caffine withdrawal!! So glad to see you all and finally meet!! Not quite sure if cruise living is for me...well, perhaps if it was just me and my DH- 2 out of 3 kids getting sick was, to say the least, a bump in the vaca- and today is just as warm as it was a de-embarkcation!! Thank Goodness for perfect weather at Castaway Cay!!!

Hi All...I sure miss you (I am sure Donna does too)!

What a wonderful time - loved meeting each and everyone of you. Shauna you were so good to arrange the DIS meet...that just got us all off to a wonderful start of the cruise. Also, for calling to have some of our tables linked...it was so nice to see smiling faces that we knew at dinner each night!

Thanks much for all the cute FE goodies - us big kids loved coming back to our stateroom to find a surprise waiting for us!

Kathy and Susie you were the best table mates we could have ever wished for! We loved going to Palo with you Kathy!!!

I-Gede and Passayu ROCK as the best dining room staff!!! So charming, so patient with our many questions and so entertaining besides being on the ball to bring us food and drink!

My bed left a lot to be desired...too lumpy, but I slept and I will return to Disney cruises (12/19/10 and 5/29/11). Our room steward Geronimo did a bang up job in keeping our room clean and shiny without being obtrusive.

The food was some of the best I have ever had on a cruise and the service was top notch!

Castaway Cay is truly a dream island for anyone that loves to have fun in the water and on the beach!!

:hug::hug::hug::hug::love::love::love::: to all my new DIS friends!!!

Welcome home everyone! I hope you all had safe and quick trips home.
I just want to take this opportunity to Thank everyone for the great FE gifts:thumbsup2
I must confess I was very overwhelmed at the begining of the cruise with the prospect of finding my way around and the amount of time it would take. I had planned on doing a drop every day but after the first one decided to do three instead with more contents. I regret not making tags , as it was nice to see where and who everything was from. I also regret not bringing things that said Niagara Falls on them because we enjoyed things that were from specific places. I loved all the homemade things and am glad I took the time to make a few things for the FE. In summary , at first I thought I would not do it again but by the end of the week and contemplating things I would do differently I would deffinately do it again. The kids had such a great time checking the pockets and playing and eating there gifts. Thank-you all for adding an exrta dimension to a fantastic cruise. We loved it and are hooked. I am already dreaming of the next one!!!!! :grouphug:

To no power:scared1:Thank goodness for the generator. Kiddos have no school today. There goes the unpack, open mail, do laundry and grocery shop idea. Oh well:laughing: We had a great cruise made great new friends and had fun giving and getting FE gifts. Hope to keep in touch with you all and to see you on a future Disney Cruise!!!!:goodvibes

Now that we are home and away from Cruise retribution...my daughter was sick too.... as well as one across the hall. Woke up one night puking....and then diarrhea the next day. After everything I read, we were afraid if we reported it, we'd be confined to quarters.
