Aruba
Curacua
At Sea

Ft Lauderdale

With a balcony cabin for 4 is $2,600 and the cabins are 254 sq ft.
I spoke with HAL and asked about kids on board and she said seniors are aware of the school breaks and avoid weeks of the school breaks.

Wow, a balcony cabin for 4 is $2,600 is a steel.

Hi all just wanted to say that I changed our cruise date to a 3 day Wonder on Feb 11. The reason is that my 2 girlfriends bought dvc (great referral $$$ for me). They plan on using the free cruise incentive from buying in and so we are all sailing together again on this shorter cruise and then doing the pres week in the world. Hope you all have a great cruise and I plan on rebooking onboard hopefully for the new ship!!!!

Enjoy your new cruise and trip to WDW .... the best of both worlds!

Hey everyone,

Add six more to the party list!:dance3: In our party we have me(Peggy), hubby (Scott) sister (Melissa) her hubby (Justin) and their two children Paige 12 and Riley 5. We are trying to get more family on this cruise. Last time we had 13 of us sailing and we still share the pictures of the last time we sail. Nothing like a buch of crazy cajuns on the ship.:grouphug:

Welcome pink25

We are 2 moms & 2 DD 14 in my party (both of our DH's are working )

Were the 13 of you on the the 2/14/09 Magic?

Last year, 18 of us were on the Wonder for Thanksgiving. We had a blast.

I just booked 2/10 airfare, purchased 2 Hyatt airport coupons, insurance from access americia, & one way bus travel from Disney. My bill is coming next week for all of above :scared1:

Thank god we have months to save the actual cruise bill

I've never bought travel insurance before but since this is a winter cruise/flights, I'm thinking maybe I should. What should I be looking for?
Thanks! Karen

Yes, travel insurance is "very important". It usually runs about 98.00 per person if you purchase it your self.

Access Americia is one, does anyone have any advice for Karen regarding insurance or companies?

On our way to the Magic 2 of our bags were lost (the airlines) for a few days. They did make it to the boat & we recieved them after midnight when we sailed. DD had nothing. I bought her all new clothes on the Magic (because we purchased insurance) I think the amount was $200.00 each per bag. If someone is sick, & confined to your cabin during your cruise, you will be reibursed. Also dental, missed connections, much more.

OK I am officially not on this cruise. I booked Holland America's Westerdam for the same week.

I'm sooo excited, they even have an outdoor deck dedicated for teens.

Love the itinerary as much as I love the price and the $99 3rd and 4th guest price is for ANY age not only kids.

Have a great trip!

Is it too late to join this party? I just booked!!!! Literally!!!!

We went last April 2008 and our friends that were on with us (we found out this after we booked - LOL)texted us from the Magic this am and said join us for Feb. vaca 2010 - SO I DID!!!!!!!

Lisa RatnnRavn I think you were on our cruise last yr during April vaca wk? I remember your picture from posts.

Anywoo - it will be me Judith (29 - yeah right), DH Tommy (40something), Jason (15) and Drew (10). It may also be two other families from my work and maybe mom and dad and DS and DBIL. We shall see. Who cares - we are booked!!!!! I am psyched about the Eastern - mostly d/t having 3 days at sea.

So excited! can you tell?!

Judith

Thanks MassDisLovers! I see by your signature you have cruised a lot!!! I also saw in a previous post - I think it was at St. Maartin you don't do the excursions you use a guide. How does that work? And do you feel safe? I wanted to book a fishing excursion on one of the stops for my DH and two boys any experience with that?

Thanks for your help in advance.
Judith

Hi Judith,
We've had pretty good luck booking excursions on our own. The only times we have used the cruiselines were when we were in Costa Rica and Panama, as we were unfamiliar with those locations and weren't sure about safety. You can save a LOT of money doing it yourself, but you also have to be sure to book within the allowed time frame for that port. We've found that getting a tour (or even just transportation) from the locals is often much more informative. Generally they are very proud of their home and are happy to share what they know with you. It's a much more personalized experience

We have not booked fishing, but if you google "cruise ship excursions St. Maarten" for example, you will get a list of private vendors who cater to the limited time frame that cruise passengers have. That's the only thing I would caution you about - be SURE that you have plenty of time to get back to the ship. There are also sites like Travel Advisor for one that has reviews on excursions. We have plenty of time until we go, so you can have fun making your plans. Good Luck!

Karen

Karen,

Thanks so much for your help. Soo excited!!!! Its making my long hours at work seem that much more bearable.

Just popping in to say "hi" to everyone again, and a big welcome to anyone new that has joined the thread recently !:goodvibes

Haven't been around for a while, busy with work, kids etc. after our short holiday to St. Lucia in Feb. this year.

We have now booked our flights over to the US (£350 rtn.- not a bad price ..especially when i have seen some of the internal flight prices you guys have been quoted !) ... so it all feels a bit more real.

We arrive at MCO on the 5th Feb., giving us just over a week in Orlando first - this will be our 5th trip so we won't be going flat out at the parks this time.

Is anyone else doing WDW first ?:confused3

We are not flying back to the UK until the 23rd Feb., so hope to do a few days on the coast after the cruise. I'm desperately trying to find a suitable private rental at Ginn Hammock Beach Club Resort on the Palm Coast ....but not having too much luck at the moment ! :rolleyes1

Hope you are all doing well, and can't wait to see that countdown dropping even further !

:flower3: Judy x

Hi. Thanks for welcoming me. Judy we are going early - feb 10th. I had already booked a 2br SV at Kidani for my sister, her husband, my mom and dad from the 10th to the 16th. Nobody is really willing to commit and my DH and boys decided they really wanted to cruise again - so I booked the cruise and told them - "This is what were doing. You can join us if you want but we are going". We shall see. So today I changed the reservation to leave on the 13th! We will have a big place to ourselves.

I keep checking for flights but can't book yet. I will keep checking because around here Feb flights are EXPENSIVE!!!!

Looking forward to the Magic again!!!

Oh Patricia, I just noticed you did the Eastern before. Any suggestions for Fishing Excursions? What Excursions have you done?

Thanks for any help. We did the Western and the Wonder before.

Judith

Hi Judith,
I see you are from Brookline - I am from Gardner. I agree that the airfare prices are crazy from our area. Try some booking sites like Kayak , Sidestep, BookingBuddy, etc. Another thing to try is to buy your departure and return airfares separately. It doesn't always prove cheaper, but sometimes it is. We are flying US Air on the 12th and Delta on the 20th, both out of/ in to Logan. Of course, if you're brave and can stand to wait, Southwest (Manchester or Providence) and Jet Blue still won't post February fares for a couple months. I always say that I'll wait for them, but then get all worked up about it and frantically search for something we can live with.

By the way, if you were on Lisa's (RantnnRavn) last cruise, we were there too.... the infamous "Showers of Happiness" cruise with HyperMommy coordinating all the pre-cruise thread photos and lists.

Good luck with the airfare search!

Karen

I agree with Karen, www.Kayak.com is great. We have been traveling to Orlando for President's week for the last 6 years. I have been booking one ways for the last 5.

Yes we were on the Magic last Presidents Day a few month ago. At our meet came one man looking for other men to rent a Deep fishing boat.

We actually booked with Disney & went to the beach for the day. We saw lot's of Disney famlies that went themselves, & saved lot's.

Look at your local libarary & ask for The passporter Disney cruise. I just got mine for 2009. It explains everything even the tours.
