My husband is the biggest FF fan ever... and I desperately want to get him in the show for our honeymoon! When it first came out last year, I called to see what the casting process was, and they said they would work something out for us to guarantee he would be able to participate (provided he was in good health, etc). Now, it looks like he will just have to go to the casting process with everyone else, which is a bummer because I wanted to surprise him. Oh well. So can anyone give me pointers on what he'll be asked to do for the casting process? I want to give him as much a chance as possible!!! Thanks so much!! :cutie:

I read somewhere online that in the casting process they make you eat or drink something to do with bugs to make sure you are willing to do it , I read that around the time it opened so not sure if that is still one of the things they are doing good luck! :scared:

My 18 yr. old son was picked last summer and he didn't have to eat or drink anything. He's at college but I'll try to find out what kind of ? they asked.

you have to fit a height/weight matrix and be in good shape. a little drama helps, they want you to have a good reason why you want to be picked from the other applicants. most of them have something they want to prove to themselves or their families. this is videotaped and played to the audience. that's why they call it 'casting.' :)

LOL so would you say most of them are trying to "compensate" for something...? :teeth:

Thanks for the replies, guys!! I was wondering about this height/weight matrix. My DH is only 5' 5", and probably 145 lb, but its all muscle. He's a carpenter, so his upper body is really really built. But are they going to reject him outright because of his height?

Height requirement: 5-foot-1 to 6-foot-2
Weight requirement: 110 to 225 pounds
Show attire, safety equipment: Provided.

if he's built like that, he should do well in the first stunt. they take you up about 50 ft. off of the stage and drop your platform. you have to hang there and outlast the others while shaking off some other pressures. tell him to start doing chin-ups.

Requirements:
18yrs + with valid PHOTO ID :thumbsup2
5'0 - 6'2" :thumbsup2
110lbs - 225lbs :thumbsup2
No recent surgery, good health, not on a ton of meds, no high blood pressure, no ALCOHOL within 12 hours of the show, no extreem fear of hights or crowds, able to leap tall buildings in at least 3 bounds.

Casting takes up to 20 minutes, then tack on another 45 if you make it to the show. Casting area holds 24 people, of those up to 6 will be choosen for each show. Contestants are auditioned based on personality(dont be a lump),physical ability(again, dont be a lump) and ability to pass a written "exam".
If the casting session is full, there will be 2 elimination rounds. Questions will be asked, games will be played and people will be judged on creativity, personality and ability to laugh at themselves.
If you are eliminated, :confused3 DONT GIVE UP!! If you want it bad enough, show it, bring your "A" game...MAKE them want you! Thats the great thing about there being more than one show a day....everyone gets a chance.

The food stunt is seperate from the physical stunts and is cast after the 6 are picked for the show. As well as the critter challenge.

When the park is busy be at the casting area at LEAST 90 minutes before show time and if you REALLY want an almost sure fire shot, show up to the first casting of the day...nobodys back that far in the park that early.

Hope this helps

These replies have been great!! I can't wait to get him on... maybe we will make a beeline for it in the beginning of the day, and get him on first thing!!

My son said to make sure you stand out. Don't give safe answers. I think when he was picked he was the only southern boy in the group. He has alot of personality and isn't afraid to show it.

To be cast you just need to say the things that they want to hear....they are looking for the types of people who can relate best to the audience. I was only eighteen when I got picked so I was young and female which related to a lot of their audience. And when they asked why I wanted to be on fear factor I said "because everyone thinks that I am the little shy and quiet girl and I wanna show everyone that that's not true." Just be prepared to answer some strange questions and be out of your comfort zone.
