Are FP+ for FEA available starting at 9:00 AM, even if World Showcase only opens at 11:00 AM?

No. The ride opens for standby at 9:00 AM (or whenever Future World opens that day) but Fastpasses don't start until 11.

And the wait times reflect this. Just returned from a 6 night trip. On our Epcot day, FEA wait times from 9AM park open until FP+ started at 11AM hovered around 15 minutes. Once the clock struck 11, wait times jumped to 60 minutes.

What about getting in line for FEA just before closing time? Has anyone tried that, and how long did you wait?
