I was just wondering if any one has run into issues giving these little bottles now that you are limited on what kind of alcohol you can bring on?

I wanted to do them for our FE again this time around but don't want to through away my hard work if they aren't allowed.

Each guest 21 and over may bring onboard 2 bottles of wine/champagne (max size 750ml each) OR 6 beers (max size 12 oz each). This allotment may be brought onboard on embarkation and from each port of call.

You are not allowed to bring onboard any hard liquor (of any size).

Personally, I'd be cautious about putting such things in a Fish Extender. Mostly because, yes, sometimes things go missing from FE pockets. Yes, there are people who take things that aren't theirs. And yes, that could be kids.

Although a possibility as with kids stealing anything I guess, is sad that children on a Disney cruise would steal from someone else. I never had a problem last time as all our gifts made it safely to the respective recipients.

How do you know if the other families actually get the gifts once you leave them in their extender? and they don't get taken after you leave them there.

Yes, but Kids will be Kids.
and Teenagers will be Teenagers!!! :scared1: - unfortunately those are the ones to watch out for. They should know better but....

My "mantra" is that if you are on a Disney Cruise you don't need to take my stuff. I don't think that I would feel that way on Carnival (for example). But that doesn't mean that I am careless with my stuff.

And I have not / and probably will never participate in a FE group - My "Real Life" Mantra is: I don't Need (or want) More Stuff!! And Packing more stuff and flying across the country - yea, that's not happening.

I don't think that by participating in a FE you are being careless with your stuff like you said you have never participated which is to each their own. Our family happens to enjoy it and it is one of my daughters favorite things to deliver gifts to others. And i happen to rather like giving something that someone will use and enjoy (hopefully).

However my questions was to those who may have brought them on board or to know if they were allowed not if the were appropriate.

It's not always kids/teenagers who go snooping into fish extenders that don't belong to them. Happened to watch a couple help themselves to candy that was in the pockets of FE along a hallway one day. My mom and I couldn't figure out if they didn't know that the FE weren't there as a candy "dispenser" or if they just didn't care. Odd...(and frankly, sad)

Haha that is pretty sad I sure hope they didn't know! Maybe they thought it was out for the taking. I'm pretty verbal I would have probably said something, but maybe not if I was in shock of seeing someone steal
Something.

I think I'm more in shock of the people who think kids will be kids or teenagers will be teenagers i sure didn't raise my teenagers or littles to be like that! I would be one pissed off mom if I found out that my kids were stealing from someone else.

I have to say, we didn't participate in any FEs, but I saw several on our floor. There was one on our way to our room that seemed to have something every day. When I saw that, I couldn't help but be excited for them. I didn't think I'd react that way. It was nice to see these packages coming out of the top of the FEs. You knew someone was getting a nice surprise.

DCL should sell "Cove Coffee Gift Cards" with one coffee on them. That would make a nice FE gift. They could sell them in packs of 5 or 10, maybe. It would encourage people to buy or try their coffees and maybe get them to come back for more. Not that any of us are in a position to advise DCL marketing or anything.

I love this idea, I love to give gifts from California, heck if I could bring hot In N Out burgers I would lol, but that being said I would be happy to give and receive GC from cove cafe :)

I did a FE last cruise. I went totally overboard (no pun intended)! I packed an entire suitcase for my FE group (including my family, a group of 10 families). I also did an ornament exchange. I should've just done a little something for everyone, but for the little girls, I made headbands with ribbon tinker bells, a coloring book with princess crayons, the preteen girls got a nice nail polish set, nail file, the moms got bath bombs, I made the teen boys star wars pillow cases and steam punk mouse ear keychains...oh, the list went on and on!!! I made all the boys felt Oogie Boogie's and stuffed them with gummy bugs and worms (it was a Halloween cruise). Can you tell I went crazy???

The gifts we got in return were just as elaborate. Some of the best gifts we got were water bottles for all of us with our names written in Disney font (came in very handy). My boys were given custom DCL draw sack bags. Someone gave us sand removal bags (you place baby powder in the bag and then dust over your sandy feet/legs and the sand comes right off...really cool). I did get have room for souvenirs for the return trip home. But I won't lie, some stuff we won't just get much use out of (and didn't take it back with us...I'm thinking of dollar store glow sticks).

If I do the FE again, I will pick one gift for all and it will be small enough that I don't take an extra suitcase. It was fun to deliver the gifts and see the different FE around the ship. What was fun were the "pixie dust" gifts that were left in our FE...candy, mickey soap, magnets. Was very fun to see what we had in it every day :-)
