I've noticed this morning that the free dinning for Canadian residents isn't really worth it. If you are booking with a room discount and the savings for the tickets it is actually a little cheaper then the free dining option. It also seems that the selection of rooms is larger on the 25% off select rooms vs the Free dinning rooms that are available.

Pop Century - Free Dinning Package - 6 Nights - Preferred Room(can't get on Standard) - 3704

Pop Century - Summer Time Discount /w Canadian Resident - 6 Nights - 3425

If you cannot go during the summer and spring months then I think we will probably see some room discounts that will come along that will be somewhere around at least 20% off.

Now if can get the free dining with the Canadian resident discount then let me know

Agree. I priced it out. I booked AoA, little mermaid room with qs and cad ticket offer. It's 400 dollars cheaper than the free dining pkg.
*that's if little mermaid was a choice and it's not as usual.

did they raise dinning plan pricing? I thought it was 69.35 and 24.95 for regular dinning plan but seems to workout as more on website right now

Yup it is not worth it to get FD as you need to add the Full Tix and Full RO price. Plus Mods get QSDP.

Go with OOP option. Go exchange US$1,100 Cash and that alone saves you from 2.5% charges by Credit Card company and you are free to use US$1,100 on any food in the park / resorts. Beats QSDP.

Is this including paid QSPD with the summer discount?
I am not finding much difference when I run the numbers. 1 adult and 2 Disney adults end of August...

This is an even smarter idea. I was thinking of picking up a Disney gift card and loading it up for food and the food and wine festival and cancelling the ddp. Can we do it from here through the Disney store?

So if you can find the exact room for your dates then it can workout a little cheaper, but the dates are limited compared to a room only discount. I would also tend to believe that there will be a fall/winter room only discount as well that will come out which would probably be similar to the summer discount with more selection available then with free dining.

I'd like to know this too...if we can load up a Disney gift card in a Canadian Disney store and use it at Disney world... but something tell me no because of the exchange

Apparently we can't. You need to take your Us cash down there and purchase the gift card. I'm going to budget so much each day and put it on a each gift card. Leave the rest in the room safe. Take one out each morning.

My TA also suggested we put cash and/or GC on our resort account once down there and just scan the magic band as usual.

What I'm trying to figure out is how much to budget each day for qs meals, the food and wine festival, drinks (including alcohol ones), snacks and souvenirs. I was thinking 100 per person per day.

I like your idea as well because it lets you budget per day and not go over it.. you just have to plan it in advance...
Not sure yet which way we'll go ;)
I keep saying I need to sit down and figure out how much each day will be but haven't done it yet.

This sounds like a fantastic Idea. Wonder if Gift Certificates can work at "Downtown Disney Springs"

Free dining was a bust for me, too. We're booked at CBR for 7 nights with the summer discount, Canadian tickets, and the construction gift card offer (which works out to be $525). FD was waaaay more expensive.

I don't see where you account for any meals with the summer discount and Cdn ticket deal....did I miss something ?
