Hello!
On the first night of our next stay we want to try one of the hotel buffets. Inventions sounds lovely but our special meal for this trip is going to be Walt's so it's down to one of the other hotels.
What is your favourite buffet? It needs to be outside of the park because it closes at seven so we want something to do in the evening after we've watched Dreams.
Thanks :)

We really enjoyed the Hunters Grill in May and I've seen lots of good reviews generally. Plus the bar at the Sequoia would be lovely for pre or post dinner drinks on a chilly December evening!

That's a lovely idea, thanks :)

We thought La Grange upstairs at Billy Bob's was one of the best of the similar priced buffets eg PG RDS :)

Not technically a buffet but we really like Beaver Creek Tavern also in SQL. Its a buffet starter and buffet dessert but you order your main course cooked to order. Its a nice mix and the food is lovely :) Children can eat from both buffets and there is an additional one for the children's main course with breaded chicken, pizza, spaghetti etc.

We were hoping to go here in March, but it was closed, they didn't know for how long, and we were also told that it probably wouldn't come back int his form - more than likely it would be another buffet. :confused3 Madness.

Hey
We loved the Chuckwagon and I've done a review in the Restaurant Review thread. We have tried all the hotel buffets bar the one in the Newport (Cape Cod) but found the cheaper ones to be better in terms of choices. If I were to rank them:

Chuckwagon - great
La Cantina - very good
Inventions - bit pricey but very nice although not a huge choice
Parkside - tasty but not a huge choice
Restaurant des Stars - good choice, feels a bit soulless
Billy Bobs - Good enough but not a huge choice, quite spicy, didn't suit us all
Hunters Grill - worst duck every :scared:
Plaza Gardens - worst service I've come across at DLP! Nasty waitress, bland food

We haven't tried Agrabah or Buzz Lightyear's Pizza Planet either but I think I might have to rectify that in March. Definitely dining at the Chuckwagon again next month and I'll post an up to date review then :goodvibes

I second Kizzabel - we've had some really good meals at the Chuckwagon too, infact if Beaver Creek Tavern is still shut in Dec it may make the short list! I'm gutted about Beaver Creek though! Does anyone have any recent info about it?

Is it undergoing refurb? We quite liked it too! Definitely better then when we dined at Hunters Grill.

Yeah I agree I much prefer it to Hunters Grill - I thought the SQL refurb was all finished though? - I'll have a look on trip advisor and see when the last review was...

I liked a lot Parkside diner, also because it was relatively quiet and the food was good. Chuckwagon was "meh" this time. not bad but not impressed either, I had better memories. Maybe since I tried the megadelicious pork ribs at the Cowboy Cookout bbq, those at the Chuckwagon are inedible in comparison.

The only buffet we've ever done is Parkside in HNY and we did all enjoy it. It's always been quiet when we're there too :thumbsup2

Hands down, Hunter's Grill.
I've eaten there probably around 30 times, and it has always been fantastic.
Highly recommend it!

I liked the Parkside Dinner in HNY, nice bar in the hotel to relax in afterwards too. DW and I did a buffet mad trip in 2010 when we dinned at all the hotels buffet restaurants in the evenings. Never again!

By the 6th night we were very pleased to in Inventions. What we did notice is that they all improved in quality as we went around the resort hotels.
