Hiya Everyone

After seeing a similar thread on another forum I thought it would be a thread starter. So, what was your favourite childhood toy that you always wanted, but never got ;)

Mine:

Mr Frosty

I always wanted a pony (I know its not exactly a toy) but my mum sent me away on a riding residential course and after mucking out at 5:00 am every day for a week it soon put me off - I decided I liked my sleep too much.

Remember the Popples! I always wanted one of them, then my dad got me a lovebear I think it was he thought it was a popple, well on xmas day I was not impressed LOL :lmao: but to this day I still have my lovebear so not all was lost....I did never get a popple though!

A bicycle - but it was beyond my parent's means. To this day, I still can't ride one!

not a toy, but there was a Duran Duran book that I wanted when I was about 13. My auntie was stuck for something to buy me, so my mother suggested that she got me this. I didn't get the book from her, cos she didn't think it was worth five pounds !! I was gutted, but later bought it myself out of my Christmas money.

I always wanted a brand new bike!

I did have a bike but it was a hand me down from my cousins (in fact it was so antiquated it was more like a hand me down from my granny :rotfl:)

I eventually got a brand new bike when I was 32, I bought it myself :rotfl:

I always wanted once of those toy dogs that used to bark and then jump over but I never got one. I have to admit I would still quite like one now!!

i really wanted big yellow teapot but i got a tree top lighthouse instead the treehouse was much better so i was glad in the end

I was always mad about Sindy dolls... I had a fair few bits and pieces, but there was always more that you could collect...

If there are any unfulfilled cravings (i.e. jumping dogs and popples), then ebay is the place to get them from... when I was a kid I loved the TV show "Battle of the Planets" - bought the entire series (In a DVD boxed set) from ebay earlier this year. Ok it isn't quite what I remember (they seem to re-use a lot of clips from episode to episode), BUT it brought back memories... :)

Boo
(a very sad person ;) )

Mr Frosty,

I never did get one, after asking every year.

That TV advert and the song was so compulsive.

EDIT: I always wanted a Thomas the Tank Engine Horby set. And I still do!!! :thumbsup2

Lol, sooner the better :rotfl2:

Playmobil pirate ship. Finally bought one for my nephew a few years ago and spent all day building it and 'helping him play with it' :thumbsup2 pirate:

Penny Puppy Walker....
anyone old enough to remember that!?

I have to be honest, nothing. I was an only child with just one parent on very limited means but I was certainly very spoilt and if my mother could afford it at Christmas then I got it. Of course I was aware of this and tried as much as possible to limit my Xmas wish list as despite been spoilt my mum has always insisted I was never a spoilt brat! Just a lucky (spoilt) little girl

A 'Scamps' dog. It was basically a plush dog on a lead type base that barked and moved when you pushed it along.
Also Quints (mini dolls that came in a set of 5 as the name would entail =) and a Barbie Power Wheels jeep. No chance of that one!
I did have a lot of toys but I always wanted more
Bf Steve being an only child had enough for at least 10 kids.. If he'd kept some of them they'd probably be worth quite a bit now (loads of special edition Ghostbusters figures and the like)

I still do!! ;)
Better not let DH see that wish list!! LOL :rotfl2:

I always wanted a TCR (total control racing) but being an only child and a girl, my parents wouldn't get me one! I did buy my then-2yr old daughter a scalectrix and a hornby thomas the tank engine train set for xmas though, so got that out of my system. Would still have loved a lane changing TCR though...!

I had a mr frosty and it was rubbish, although my friends liked it!

Lynn :thumbsup2
