Favourite Character interactions....

Last Christmas when we were walking around Adventureland I realised that Jack Sparrow was walking behind my dad making fun of the way he walked. I started laughing and it took the rest of my family about a minute to realise what I was laughing at as he kept hiding whenever they turned around to see what was there.

• Turning up for our meal at Cafe Mickey to find it manically busy, no waiter around to show us to a table, so they called Mickey over! Had to go to our table feeling Very watched... but it was still good.

• Chip dancing with DD in her Princess for the Day get-up, and signing her book "To my princess"

• The "Where am I on this book?" routine from the Evil Queen from Snow White when presented with a Princess Autograph book to sign, that DD still talks about now.

• DD dancing (its a running theme with her) with Smee, while a large mad crowd right next to him ignored him completely (Peter Pan and Wendy were there), so she had Smee all to herself! (I think the advent of Jake & the Neverland Pirates may change Smee's popularity somewhat by our next visit...)

• Stumbling across Minnie doing a scheduled greet in lobby of HNY, but with nobody there, no queue, nothing. The quietest and easiest meet and greet of the entire trip.

I think its been said elsewhere, but as good as the queued greets can be, I to me they generally are only special through meeting characters hard to see at other times, the real gems of memories are where proper interaction can happen, or pure surprise when you stumble across them while walking around.

• Naveen and Tiana after the Year of the New Generation show.
  
  I was standing at the side where they came down along with Remy and Emile trying to get autographs. I did get a drawing I had done signed by Remy the day before at Stars N Cars, but I really wanted Emile to sign his drawing too.
  
  Tiana and Naveen were first to come down and went straight to the corner where I was standing. Okay, no harm done, I had drawings for them too. So I held out the drawing. Naveen caught what I had and not only grabbed his drawing, but the whole stack I was holding. Oops.
  
  He started browsing, went "wow" and called over Tiana to show her her drawing. Tiana saw I had done Emile too and ran off to get me... Remy. I tried calling after her that she had the wrong rat, but it didn't help.
  
  So she dragged Remy over to me. He looked at the picture and then pretended to tell her off because of course it wasn't him on the drawing. So Naveen ran off and got me Emile.
  
  Emile now was really impressed, was jumping up and down and clapping his hands and was totally excited that I had drawn him and not Remy. When he pounced me for a hug he almost toppled over the fence.
  
  Naveen and Tiana were so insanely sweet. They kept recognizing me throughout our stay and Naveen even winked when he saw me in the first row on the parade route.
  
  
• Gideon in the DLH
  
  Again a story about my drawings. Gideon was out in the hallway near Inventions, and no one really paid attention to him. I came around the corner and really must have looked like this. I had already done a drawing for him for Halloween in DLR Anaheim, but I had only seen him out once at the Villains photo stop and then never again through a two weeks stay. Cue me madly scrambling for the drawing.
  
  I approached Gideon, called him by name and asked for his autograph. That already got his attention because the few others that had stopped had at the best called him "the big kittycat." Then he saw I had drawn him. He started jumping up and down, flailed his arms (actually hitting one of those glass cases in the process... I was so scared it would break or even worse he'd hurt himself) and kept hugging me. He wouldn't let me go for several minutes and showed each and every person passing by my drawing.
  
  Then the next day I was sitting near the photo stop waiting for the character change. I had my back to the hallway where the characters come out. Suddenly furry arms were hugging me from behind. I almost screamed because I was so surprised.
  
  Turned out it was Gideon who started showering me with kisses. It was really adorable.
  
  
• Cruella at Stars N Cars
  
  Similar to what some others have posted. She was really, really into her role and refusing to sign. I have a really, really large DSLR. So I decided to act like a paparazzi and yelled at her to pose. That she gladly did, and then after I had paid enough attention to the "true star" she gladly signed for me too.

My DD has had loads of great interaction with the characters all over the place at DLP, which is partly why we keep going back .

This thread started me thinking about my favourites though - and they would be Gaston and Jack Sparrow. I've met Gaston 3 times, first time he took my hand and kissed it while telling my sister not to be too jealous , second time he posed for me to take pictures, saying "one more, and now this one" then he blew kisses at DD and I from the stage, and the last time he was shamelessly flirting with anything female, when I asked if I could take his picture he leaned against a tree and positively smouldered into the camera, one eyebrow raised and everything .

And Jack Sparrow - well ladies do I need to explain ? I went all girly giggly first time we met him - in fact I was the one who went to get his autograph while DD took the photos lol.

Love reading this thread, I am so excited about taking my little Rose to DLP next year, she will be on cloud 9.

We went when she was 4 months and we had some lovely character interactions, probably because she was so teeny.

We queued to meet Winnie the Pooh, and he was just amazing with her, cuddling her and kissing her. Got some amazing photos, although she looks very grumpy.

We were in the hotel lounge waiting to leave and she was lying on a blanket playing when Goofy appearred and came over and started playing with her, making her giggle etc.

But the best was when she met Chip & Dale during the parade in the studios. We were standing by the side and they spotted her and came running over, and wouldn't leave, they were playing with her feet, kissing her and cooing over her for ages, they eventually had to be shooed on by the others as they were holding things up! It was wonderful!

Great stories! So much fun to read!

Jack Sparrow is a great character to meet. I met him at the Blockbusters Cafe last year. I had gone to DLP with my Mum and she suggested we went there to meet him, so we found out the times and we got there about 30 mins early, grabbed some food and sat down, we were pretty much the only people in that section, everyone was in the HSM bit. It got to the time he was meant to arrive and i was itching to meet him! But he wasnt showing up! So Mum found a cast member who was wandering around the place and asked when he was coming and she told him I had been waiting especially for 30 mins to see him. So the CM tells her he shall be out shortly and by this time the place has filled up quite a lot, people were huddled around the place he usually stands by, the wheel. Suddenly he comes out and everyone starts screaming and stuff, and Mum suggests we get to the back of huge crowd of people. But we noticed the CM with him signals us to sit down, so we do and he brings Jack over to meet us first *** the other CM had told us we had been waiting for him. I was sooo pleased! Jack was totally gorgeous too <3
So i got loads of photos with him, etc and he kissed me hand. He liked me *** i called him Captain lol!

Definitely two years ago with Jack Sparrow. My brother's a huge fan and we were just talking about trying to find him as we were walking through Adventureland towards Pirates.

Suddenly Jack just appears, more or less in a rush together with his attendant. Some people were trying to stop him for pictures and stuff but apparently they had to be somewhere. And then out of the blue he makes eyecontact with my bro and just stops. Jack takes his hand in a firm grip and shakes it with a nod before posing for pictures.

The look on my brother's face was just absolutely priceless. He was speechless for at least another four minutes or so.

My favourites were when dd met Tiana amd Naveen. We had waited in line for an hour, chatting with a lovely Spanish lady and her dds. Jem was second in the que but got an unexpected bout of shyness!! Tiana and Naveen spent ages holding her hand and being so sweet. As we left they danced and twirled with Jem and Tiana and Jem courtsied. So cute.
My other favourite was when we stumbled on about 8 chatactors near the bandstand. We patiently wait near Stitch after meeting most of the others. The CMs were starting to move them on and next thing a rude boy sends Jem flying and smiles up at Stitch. Well Stitch wasnt impressed. He helped dd up and cuddled her for ages. He was so nice to her and it was nice to see that being nasty and pushy didnt pay off.

One of my fav moments was in Inventions, it was a meal we were having for my ds 6th birthday, chip and dale were playing up as normal. We were seated by the buffet with ds on a chair with his back towards it. Chip and Dale came along and kidnapped him, pushing him on his chair up and down the tiles floor. He still talks about this a year later.

Another one happened at the same meal, Captain Hook had already signed his book but after his cake had come out he came back to the table and asked for his book again, we told him that he had already signed but he still motioned for it, he then asked for ds name and added a personal message to his autograph, and finished it with 'kiss kiss'.

The final moment that still makes me giggle was last December when my oh and my bf went totally manic over meeting Darth Vader, my oh just kept telling me to take pictures, if it hadnt been so quiet I think they would have been throwing small children out of the way, luckily it was around the side of the star tours shop so no one else had spotted him and we had him all to ourselves for a few minutes.

And finally it has to be Jack Sparrow, we queued to see him and he was just leaving when my ds some how caught his eye with the homemade autograph books ( that had been commented on all week ), he stopped to sign and have his pics done with ds, I then asked if I could have one with him as well as it would make my sister so jealous, he bowed and took my arm, the result is my avatar pic
